The Small Block Chevy Thread

SBC is the best engine on the planet. I have a 86 Camaro IROC-Z that came with a 305. I’m currently in the process of a 383 stroker motor swap.

What do you got? What have you had?

Before mutilation - Completely stock 305 with 5 speed (B&W world class t5)

Stock junk.

Had an 86 IROC that I put a 350 in with aluminum heads, 650 DP carb, etc etc. God I want that car back.

I just bought a 91 Stang 5.0, it’s nice, but I should have got another IROC.

Out with the old.

ENGINE PIC from the IROC

Had an '85 Monte Carlo SS with a 350 and some headers. I wanted to do more with it, but had to sell it to help on the down payment for my house.

.

STANG pic

my old Formy. Whoever designed the LT1 is an idiot

Those are sweet rides. I wanted one of those bad but people want a fortune for them since every gangsta is putting wheels on them. Better than a grand national IMO but they are cool too.

speaking of 3rd Gens.
I organized Thirdgen Nationals 2003 in Frederick, MD

largest gathering of 3rd Gens to date AFAIK.

had people from Washington state, FL, Maine, UK

My first project car: '77 Firebird (non-functional Formula hood)

Dropped in a Chevy 350, Weiand High Rise, and a Holly 4BBL, headers. Did much better off the line than the stock Poncho 400’s and T/A 6.0’s in the neighborhood

In with the new.

Starting to look good!

here’s the pic I was lookin for from the car show

Funny how that works right. 350 is the shit.

LT1 had the water pump placed over top the Opti spark (like a distributor). Water pumps were known to go bad, not a good idea.

About $1500 to fix.

changing the plugs was horrible a shop didn’t even want to do it. quoted me at aroune $1200 IIRC
