Hopefully this thread is a helpful resource to people suffering from shoulder pain or just to keep their shoulders healthy. Post any articles you think might be helpful and Ill included them in this post. While I do not have as much experience in this area as compared to dealing with lower back pain Forums - T Nation - The World's Trusted Community for Elite Fitness ,keeping my scapula movement healthy is still a work in progress for me so I find it important enough to worry about.
In terms of continuing education for the shoulder, Cressey and Reinold’s “Optimal Shoulder Performance” DVD is one of the best resources out there. You can find it here: http://www.shoulderperformance.com/
The shoulder is such a complex body part. As Joab already stated, the scapula is extremely important, and to add to that, t-spine mobility is just as important.
There are so many variables with the shoulder; is it a muscular imbalance? laxity issue? which direction is the laxity? AC joint? GH jt? internal impingement? external impingement? biceps tendinopathy? rotator cuff tendinopathy? labral issue?
It is because of the wide variety of issues that it is really impossible to give a detailed blanket statement to help fix all shoulders, except for the scapular health and T-spine mobility. Those are reoccurring issues with majority of the problems/issues people encounter with the shoulder.
Thank`s Joab.
