The Saga of The Charming Albino

Kmc, I slept on my bench last night. It’s very comfortable. And smells good too.

Kmc and Mathman - thanks. 225x8 is a milestone for me. It was my old standard for determining if I was strong. Sadly, I must retire it, because the standard moved to 255 and I’m still not strong.

Gah! Yukon GHR on craigslist today for $195. I’m tapped out. Crap!

The Yukon is pretty cool I used one,
I actually found a gym in NYC that has an elite FTS gluteham raise,

I am going to pay the 25 bucks or what ever to do a day pass.

Ps your pretty strong, just setting the bar a little higher…

kmc

GHR? $195? Rob a gas station or sell your wife and get it!

just kidding. I’m jealous. I had to sneak $20 just to buy 5/3/1.

That’s just because your wife wouldn’t let you sleep in the house 'cause your son is still covered with diet pepsi, right?

[jealousy]

Oh no. I just love it so.

I think I stuck the Eric Cressey book inside her magazine at teh book store.

Nice PR skid.
Funny how every time you hit a milestone there is another just down the road. Its when you can’t find anymore that you should worry.
As for not being strong, have a little mercy of those of us who are chasing your “not strong” numbers. Okay?

Good work on the pressing DCA. I have to concur with the other posters, rob a gas station and get the GHR.

Aint’ that the way of things.

Among my circle of friends I am one of the strongest people they know. I’m certainly strong for my bodyweight and age when placed on a bell curve, but having met and interacted with meat, Hel, HT and others on the forum, it’s clear that I am still in the wading pool and a different version of strong now applies for me.

Here’s hoping that hanging out with outliers on the bell curve, I can become one myself.

Nice work on the bench DCA.

Thanks PeteS

I’m on the fence about this and would like some opinions on this:

I’m thinking I need more leg size for better leverage and so am considering Boring But Big for Squats. I do the 5/3/1 triumvirate currently, but I think I need just a ton more time in the hole to get comfy there. I really like the triumvirate scheme with it’s varying lifts, but I don’t think I make good choices there as concerns squatting.

I’m liking the BBB choice. I’ve intended to add a second exercise to squat day but so far have been unable to do more than the 5 sets of 10 additional squats.

While I have yet to venture the 5/3/1 road, I am always pleased with the results when I spend more time in the hole…

Oh, and squatting more is good too.

This seems to be the universal, gold star, time-tested, standard, all-true, zen answer to the age old question:

“How do I improve my squat?”
