The Saga of The Charming Albino

Don’t forget that you have the adulation of the Cougars, and that I quail in the presence of your strongness (although I privately think you need to squat more…).

Also, please teach me to bold my PRs, since I

 1. Don’t know how and
 2. Hope to achieve more of them.

I’m thinking I need more leg size for better leverage and so am considering Boring But Big for Squats. I do the 5/3/1 triumvirate currently, but I think I need just a ton more time in the hole to get comfy there. I really like the triumvirate scheme with it’s varying lifts, but I don’t think I make good choices there as concerns squatting.
Likewise. That’s why for DLs I’m leaning towards deficit pulls for assistance and zerchers or front squats for squat days (but 5/10 per BBB instead of 3x whatever). It will be brutal.

“[”“b”“]” text you want to have bolded “[”/““b””]"

Take out the quotes. If you want things italicized use “i” instead of “b”

While I have yet to venture the 5/3/1 road, I am always pleased with the results when I spend more time in the hole…

Oh, and squatting more is good too.

oh - i see what you did there (snicker)
glad someone saw my Juvenile humor (bonus points for why I ‘capped’ the J)

Well I think my bench PR cost me a slipped biceps tendon. Farkin’ shoulder hurts like it did before I got it put back into place last time.

I need some Bushmills, a scalpel and a tube of superglue.

Make that request for 2! Does your shoulder hurt to the touch or just when you have the pressure of the weight on it? I had my daughter stand on mine with no pain. Try to lift and I’d like to cut my freaking ahoulder off…

DCA- Sorry to hear that. Hopefully it isn’t the bicep tendon.
On that, by “got it put back”, I assume you mean surgery!? If so, how long did you have to lay off the lifting?

That stinks. On the other hand, it will give me a chance to do some catching up.

If you’re out for at least a couple years, that is.

SFP - you’re going to have those 65+ French women drooling all over you!

DCA - I sure hope you’re wrong, and back to humpin’ heavy soon.

Ouchy!

I can donate some chewing gum and dental floss.

Cycle 3 Wave 2
Squats

Squats (touch on a 14" box)
barx15
135x8
225x5
275x3
290x3
310x3
330x1,2

Deep Squats (10" box touch)
225 8x4 sets

screw abs.

I’ve lost ground. I can probably get 330x3 next squat session. Feeling squats in the quads and lower back, but my form is pretty good. Staying tight, I hit depth on all reps, not doing good mornings out of the hole. The “extra” depth is probably what has me down in reps a bit.
8 was all I could force myself to on deep squats. I’ll try and bumpt that up next few sessions and add another set.

Are you still doing too much assistance? Or maybe not eating enough for recovery? Nice job on gutting out the required reps on what sounds like an off day!

Don’t think I’m doing too much assistance. I’ve purposely cut back. Probably food related and from going lower in depth in the squat. It’ll come back. I’m going to hit some front squats on DL day, because the weakness seems to be in my quads. I have lots of power in the back, but my quads can’t pull me out of the hole to the extent they need to.

remember, you get suck leverage when you go that deep, so don’t get all hard on yourself. Still looks like a good session to me. in the immortal words of wee jimmy wendler himself: “sometimes you just feel like shit”

That’s what I like about you - you’re so practical.

Especially re: the last part that you left off.

Just spent some time catching up with your Charmingness. Looks like your still doing well, getting into your 5/3/1 plan, and still finding time for bench shopping (looks good and sturdy BTW). Keep pushing it-ERIC D.

I keep thinking of a charming albino with contrasting skidmarks …

Seriously though … Keep up the 5/3/1 plan and keep reporting.

Sorry it took me a while to answer. It actually hurts when my arm is just hanging from my shoulder or when I try to lift something to the front. I can lift: overhead pressing doesn’t bother it, but benching does after the fact and sometimes curls. I’ve been trying the last couple of days and may have been able to slip it back into place. I may have been successful since now the arm can hang and doesn’t feel uncomfortable. I’ve also been able to sleep with my right arm under my head too, which is impossibly uncomfortable when the tendon is out of the groove. Got my fingers crossed.

Z-man! long time no see. Glad you could drop in. Let’s see your numbers again.
