Gotta dig stealth soreness. Nothing yesterday, but today I’m walking like I’m performing a slow-motion Gabby Hayes jig.[/quote]
Most of the time, I feel it 2 days after, oddly, except today where I know that I squatted yesterday. Deadlifts are the biggy. Next day kinda weak in the legs, and 2nd day BAM hams/glutes feel like they got stomped on by hoards of Lilliputians during the night.
Paused Pin Squats-- next in my rotation. The thing is that I have to go much lower than parallel to the bottom of the rack. I need to check my other gym’s height.
Looking stronger with those squats Chalbiner!

Adductors were cramping on and off all day today, walking around the Maker Fair in San Mateo. A friend and I took our sons out for the day to a tech fair and got to see the Diet Coke and Mentos guys do their fountainous magic. I ended up giving a couple of tweener girls my front row seat because I had to go walk off a a nasty cramp - the kind where you end up kicking your own ass. My son got to be right up under the stage and so came home covered in Diet Coke.
Then my wife kicked my ass… That may be a PR, actually.
225 was a good starter weight for DDPPS. I think I can boost it 10-20 on the next round. You’re a natural squatter - I’m going to keep the reps at 5, but you will probably be able to do more than that.
6-1-2009
Cycle 3 Wave 1
Military Press Day
MP
barx20
95x5
115x5
130x5
140x5
150x5
Med Grip Pullups
BWx5
+45x5x4sets
1-Arm Standing DB press
75x5x3sets
Not feeling it today. Didn’t want to train. MP was strong reps were fast and definitely had more reps in the tank, but my plan is to do only prescribed reps and cut back assistance. But I didn’t feel like I wanted to do more reps as well.
Did my duty and it was good session. More sleep, more food, more water. I keep forgetting water. Haven’t had more than a glass a day for the last week.

The Albino is smart afterall. Good job btw.
Hopefully soon some of us WILL boast of being stronger than Skidmark was at his prime. As for DCA, maybe we’ll charm him too if/when he is retired!

I would love to boast of being stronger than myself, but it’s going to take a while on this program - like about 5-6 months more to get to my former top weights. I expect to be healthy and heavier when I get there though, with better conditioning.
If I don’t expire of boredom. The program is dependable, but is going to be boring if I’m not going for PRs more than 1 per cycle per lift. That alone may cause me to abandon it and go back to meat’s program.
if you do that, although I love meatwinkle with a manly passion, i will be forced to call you a pussy.

Really?
Let’s do a calculation of overhead press as a percentage of body weight…
Yeah - I figger I gotta rotate and track assistance movements and hit my PRs there to keep it interesting. I’m not going to abandon 5-3-1. I’m just going to have to accept the lack of weight PR in the main lifts for a longish time is all.

Lightweight, Baby!!
2009-6-2
Cycle 3 wave 1
Deadlifts
DL
135x8
225x5
315x3
365x5
390x5
410x5
Good Mornings
245 8x3sets (PR +3 reps)
AB wheel rollouts (frm knees)
15x2 sets
Ab iso holds
2x20 sec
Weighted Leg raises
10 10x2 sets
1 Arm BB side curl and press
BBx5x1set
I just couldn’t wait to deadlift.
My legs are still tired from 5/6 days ago, but all reps went up fast. Concentrated on keeping the bar close - makes a big difference.
On to the second wave!

And it is still apropos.
I don’t own any guns - spouse has a phobia. I will, however, flip a couch onto - and beat to death with a cheap dvd player - anyone who would enter my house unexpectedly.
Some projectiles aren’t as fast as others, but they’ll get the job done.

I hear those 2.5 and 5 pounders throw pretty accurately and distract them long enough to use the bar appropriately…

This conversation has made me look less than charming. I need to go fix my makeup.

I threw a 4 kg dumbell at a burglar one time as he was leaving the apartment I was living in in Japan. Hit him, too, but he got away. I think a gun is much more effective.

An effective tool of divorce in my case, although it might be worthwhile testing that boundary at some point. MEANING that my wife will not stay in a house where there’s a gun, smarty clown, not that I will shoot her.
