What’s the ballpark number you’ll have to hit to get to number 1 at +40??
You gonna go back training Metal Militia for this or what’s the plans…?

615lbs was the last I heard…I lift in the APA/APF?WPO so that, I guess, is the number. Too far away to worry about right now.
Thanks to all for the encouragement!

Yeh…Metal Militia / Westside protocol. Give me a few weeks to ease back into it and you will see…I’ll post my thread from last year now so you can see what I did…prior “implosion”.

Best of luck man.
It will be great to watch your comeback, as well as getting your life back in order. Stay strong.
Wow, what a story! Welcome back, it will be exciting to ‘watch’ you rebuild.
Good luck man. Cocaine ruined one of my best friend’s life for a while. He’s been on the road to recovery for about a year and a half now and is doing much better. The only thing I know to recommend is to stay the hell away from the people and situations where you did the drug.
Apologize to your family and friends for your behavior and ask them for their help and support. They’ll appreciate it and hopefully they’ll be active in your recovery.
You’ve already taken the hardest step - admitting the problem. Wish you the best man.
Life can just suck.
Wish you the best of luck rebuilding your life and your lifts. I am a firm beliver in the gym being my temple.
Whenever I get lazy and stop going, shit seems to get worse for me. I will follow the thread with interest. My advice to you, get into strongman!

Hard times mate. But you are on the right track. Good luck with getting back on top.

Well it’s about time you started posting January’s workouts. Your last workout was August of 2006; you need a lot of recovery!!

Welcome back to the PL world brother.
We were waiting for you.
One workout at a time.

jeez…unreal…I really mean 8/14/07 for my last workout, not “9/14/07”. I am telling you all that reality becomes non-existent on drugs. You really do not know what day it is most of the time! My body is coming back, but my mind is a bit behind…
Thanks to all for the encouragement. It is really great to know that support comes from where you least expect it.

I wish you all the best. I had a pretty bad lifestyle this year in college. Cocaine does a lot of damage to people, as can most substances or even ideologies. Addiction period is bad. But you get through it, one thing I will advise you is to forgive yourself. Sounds simple advice but a lot of us don’t do it quickly enough.
Forgive yourself, and may you gain strength from whatever spiritual beliefs that guide you.
Best of luck in your road to recovery. May your lifts be strong and your mind be stronger.

In 2005 I was ranked # 5 by Powerlifting USA in the bench. 220lb weight class / Master’s. Ranked that same year # 46 overall in the 220lb class Open (all age’s). My wife left me (for good reason I guess). I started doing cocaine for the 1st time in my life at 43 years of age (upwards of 8 grams / week, which also fueled excessive drinking…I stopped working out almost altogether.
I almost killed a young man in a fight (which I did not start—not that it makes a difference), almost lost a great job, and ended up in a Drug and Alcohol Clinic for three weeks…almost got kicked out of there too. My kids are afraid of me…and my wife wants a divorce.
WHAT A FUCKED UP MESS I HAVE BECOME.
So, the road back from hell will start Monday as I get back into training. It would be great to get some support from all on the board. I have been a member here since it’s inception, but have not posted in several months. Gonna post my workouts to fuel my desire.

Hey Hammer,
Now that you desire change, it can happen. Whatever you do, do what it takes to get your wife back, and your family. I wouldn’t be worth a squirt of piss without a good wife, and my family.
I look forward to your recovery, and you posting your workouts. I can use all the help I can get on my bench.
