The Return of Even More Movies You've Watched This Week III

I’ve been meaning to watch it for years. The only thing that’s holding me back is I have no interest in the Dragonball comics. It’s produced by the guy that made, and starred in some of the greatest movies ever made in Hong Kong and Chow Yuen Fatt’s in it.

I’m cool with reboots. The Departed was a lot better than the original, although the sequel to the original was as good as The Deperted.

It’s pretty terrible.

Captain Marvel kind of terrible or Man With The Iron Fists kind of terrible? I can handle the latter lol.

I guess you’ll just have to find out for yourself, lol.

0.00mhz (Korea 2019)

The 5 dumbest college kids in Korea drive to a shitty little shack in one of the rural areas where an insane woman had previously hung herself, and where a shaman has recently been killed trying to exorcise the spirit of the dead woman. They’re out to do some really dumb shit.

Yes, like the usual “cabin in the woods” shit. No, not to make out and smoke weed. They are paranormal investigators who sell their videos of supernatural occurrences to the media. One girl is a psychic whose mother is a shaman. One guy screams like a girl. The plan is to invoke the spirit of the dead woman and make it possess one chick while filming everything. Apparently, this happens when one’s brainwaves register a reading of 0.0mhz, hence the title.

Watching this movie is like watching Captain Marvel with U2’s greatest hits as the soundtrack. It’s pure hell. It’s so mindbogglingly, agonizingly dumb and boring that if someone presented me with a rope midway through the movie, I may have hung myself.

0.8/10

I’m not against reboots sometimes. Especially for super old movies.

But rebooting things constantly… like Terminator, fuck. Come on.

The problem isn’t about the number and frequency of reboots. It’s about the quality of the filmmakers making the reboots.

Mute on Netflix, what in the actual fuck is this garbage?

that’s the worst movie I ever seen in my life, I’m not even fucking around with you. it is literally the worst movie. I thought “ok this has to get better” and I just kept going down that rabbit hole thinking there was some type of payoff…

nope lol

I went to see Captain Marvel a couple of months ago at my local Odeon. I think that Brie Larson plays a really good role in the film. She is usually a pretty solid actor though. It isn’t her fault that it perhaps isn’t quite as good as some of the other Marvel movies. I am a big fan of Avengers. Have a really great weekend everyone, take care. Alex

:

We’ll have to agree to disagree. I think Brie Larson cannot act and Captain Marvel is the Jar Jar Binks of the Marvel cinematic universe.

Dragonball Evolution.

Jesus Christ man… I gave up after the part with the lava. How did you manage to watch it twice?

Why were all the characters reciting their lines like the dubbing artistes who dub the English versions of Japanese cartoons?

The problem I have with remakes and reboots is they seem to want to remake movies that were great and well loved to begin with. From there you have no where to go but down, but I think they are banking on making a certain amount of money off of the popularity of the original.

I’m all for reboots and remakes of great movies that never lived up to their original potential. The Highlander series, Monster Squad, Scanners.

Lol, I told you it’s bad. I grew up on Dragonball so I guess it was nostalgia that powered me through…

I think it still boils down to the quality of the people making the remake/reboot and how well they can make an original movie of their own.

The Fly - David Cronenberg
The Departed - Martin Scorsese
Scarface - Brian DePalma
Cape Fear - Martin Scorsese
The Thing - John Carpenter
El Dorado - Howard Hawks
12 Angry Men - Sidney Lumet
Casino Royale - some guy
War for the Planet of the Apes - Matt Reeves
Dracula - Francis Ford Coppola
Vanilla Sky - Cameron Crowe
Let Me In - Matt Reeves

Shit that didn’t work:

A Nightmare on Elm Street - some guy
Fright Night - some guy
Ben Hur - some guy
Texas Chainsaw Massacre - some guy
Friday the 13th - some guy
Psycho - a lunatic
Conan the Barbarian - some guy
Halloween - another lunatic
Halloween 2018 - a stoner comedy writer and director
The Hills Have Eyes - some guy
The Omen - some guy
Ghostbusters - a hack
Pet Sematary - who the fuck are these guys?
Point Break - some guy
Robin Hood - some guy who will never make a movie again
Ghost in the Shell - a retard

You do make a good point there. Although there are some exceptions to the rule, for example the remake of Titanic in 1997 was far greater a success than the original film. Equally whilst the original Lion King was an absolute classic the new re-make looks very promising, although I doubt it will long-term succeed the original. Have a really great Sunday everyone, take care, Alex.

The Dead Don’t Die

What a steaming pile of dog shit this thing is. I love Bill Murray. I don’t mind slow, goofy movies. This was the biggest waste of 2 hours of my life. There is no way there was a script for this. There are scenes where you can SEE the wheels turning in the actors’ minds as they try to come up with the next line. I kept hoping up until the credits rolled that something, ANYTHING, was going to happen to tie this horrific thing together. It never did.
