Cal- I think I’m going to have to stock up on tuna, and some vinegar with that sounds nice. And i drink at least 3 cups of tea a day! I would go crazy if I didn’t have it! I ask for it with every care package I get!!

snapper+brute- I hate dieting, and have no will power, and reallllly like cookies, and muffins. mmmmm

nlmain- I’m all about that kind of balance as well. As soon as I get back I will see how many balanced shots of vodka I can handle in my tummy at one time. Due to excess calories, I will now be chasing my vodka with water. Juice is out.

Alisa- Glad we’re in this together. I’m going to have to do the best I can with chow hall food. It’s a little difficult. esp since I don’t sleep at normal times.
That makes three of us! Living with IH will definitely help my diet. I was doing okay, could have been better, but definitely fell off the wagon!

Good news, the wife has decided that she is going to be in this with me. We made a deal that as long as I plan out her diet and meals and training/cardio routine, and tell her what to eat, that she will go to the grocery store and buy all the food and do this diet with me. Lucky for her, she will have better food and more options. Lucky… But I’m excited about it. She wants to lose 10 pounds.
Should I tell her she has to stop drinking? idk. that won’t happen anyways.

welll. Gym time soon. lots of cardio must be done today. I can only see 4 abs. NOT GOOD NOT GOOD. grrrrr.
I’m pissed though, I took a day off, and my fucking traps and lower back are STILL SORE. WTF?

This sounds like IH and me. He will do most of the cooking, but I will help shop.

I regularly take creatine. It’s made me massive.
HA! don’t mess with me Snap, you know how impressionable I am.

Anyways, i’m obviously talking about the bloat that you hear comes with creatine use. But if Snap takes it, that’s clearly a non-issue. Also, I’m just dubious on of its over all effects, i.e. does it really make a difference?

I have never experienced bloat. I’d be interested in hearing the positive effects those of you who regularly take creatine have experienced.

i took creatine a few summers ago but noticed no real change one way or the other. i did however get some killer headaches to begin with on the loading phase.

My internet was out for a few days, so I’m behind on this log.
I will respond to you all a bit later.
I think I’m going to start my diet on June 6th. going to keep eating food and taking creatine until then.
I’m not sure if it works. I’m bad at paying attention. As for bloating, I feel bloated all the time. So I don’t know… I also feel big all the time. I don’t know.

I’m running a 7k on June 14th. Army Birthday run. wahoo. Not. That’s a lot of miles. I’ve never run that far before in my life. uhg. We’ll see how it goes. That’s why I have to make sure I’m doing cardio and running outside before then!

Lower body today. Not sure if I’ll do any big lifts. Depends on how I feel. We’ll see.

_Mel

7k out were your at will feel like 15k. Better prep yourself Mel - but i’m sure you’ll do us proud
Cheers
N

I’ve been instructed to take creatine by my coach, but have not acquired any yet. I’ll update when i do.

mel, ffs. motivation? post a pic of your bare ass everywhere you see it. rack, pisser, monitor, everywhere. here, too. the more you have to stare at something you dont like, the less you’ll want to eat like shit.

also, take new pic every month to see that you ARE making progress, to help you stick with it. and post the new ones here.

mostly, just post pics of your bare ass here.

mostly, just post pics of your bare ass here.

haha, totally made my night.
I’m sure everyone would enjoy that. But I get your point.People have told me to take pics weekly, monthly, all the time. I just hate how I look most of the time so don’t take pics, even though I know it would help motivate me if I actually acknowledged to myself that I was in fact making progress. p.s.

N- You’re right. Luckily, they usually start the long runs at 5, or 6 in the morning because by the time it is 8am…it is scorching hot!

Lower Body today…Really wasn’t motivated at all for some reason. Uhg. I’m just not me lately. :frowning:

Back squat- barx10, 115x5, 135x5, 185x5, 205x2,2, 215x2
I really like how red my face gets and the vein that pops out of my neck when I squat.
Lunges+25lbDB- 20,20
push ups-12,10
back machine-160x20x2
alt. leg press- 3platesea.x8, 4platesea.x10x2
hip ad- 100x12x3
hip ab- 90x12x3

blahhhhhhhh. I hate this place.
to make it worse, DMB is in CT tonight. of course all my people are there. Wish I was! :frowning: mehhh

Oh, and I have 2 final projects due sunday. One is an 8 page paper, the other is a Power point or 8 page paper. Gr. I’m hungry.

In other news, the Senate passed the repeal of DADT today.

p.s. have any of you taken HOT-ROX?

Happy Army Birthday! And happy Memorial Day. Thanx for fighting.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I did take videos of myself squatting and benching last week. However, I cannot post them here because my internet connection is too slow, and sucks…and only allows a certain limit of downloads. So while trying to UL a vid here, I went over my limit and had to up my internet. Now I have to pay $100 a month for internet. Yeah, not happy about it!

_Mel

I took HOT-ROX when I was doing the V-Diet a couple of years back. I couldn’t really say whether they helped as the diet is tough anyway. They give you a hot feeling and raspberry flavoured burps. They are also heinously expensive.

Honestly, though, I don’t think fat burners are worth the money. Maybe if you’re a figure competitor trying to drop your last 5lbs after cutting everything from your diet, then they might be useful. But for a normal joe, not really.

Good luck with your 7K. I run 5 and 10Ks (slowly, because I’m not a natural runner) which I enjoy doing, in a masochistic sort of way, but I’m in England, which is a lot less bloody hot. Just make sure you get some practise in first. I did the 5K last weekend with my colleague who doesn’t normally run (except when she’s playing football, which is more like a few sprints) and she got round, but the next day her feet were swollen and bruised because they weren’t conditioned to run. I’m sure you’ll be fine though.

wtf??? 100 a month for internet!!?? that sucks!!!

Two thumbs up regarding the repeal of DADT and popping veins.

I like fat burners because the good ones really curb the appetite and make the dieting part easier to deal with…plus the added bonus of some extra energy… I’ve tried HOT-ROX. They don’t bring you up and crash you back down like some other stuff out there.

only one way to find out!

Nice pic of you and Timi in the “You in Uni” thread! He looks like “wtf? I’m a k-9, not a model.”

greeney- thank you!

Cal- Ha that’s funnY! I’ve tried a few thermogenics, and I don’t think they helped much. I already bought the HOT-ROX, so I shall use them. Jamie is taking them as well, I think she likes it so far. She doesn’t work out like I do though. About the run, I am used to running, just not that far! And definitely not in the heat. I’m going to die. But hey, I get a free t-shirt out of it.

Brute- yes, it’s effing insane.

Snapper- thanx

MiM- sounds good, I will let you know how it works out.

Sidenote- i was taking albuterol for a period of time. I don’t think it helped me to lose fat at all. However, it did make me hella strong, so I liked taking it. But it gave me headaches and made me dizzy. I didn’t really think it was worth it. So I stopped.

_Mel

100 month is ridic! The least they can do is supply internet access. I will write a letter to the president of operations over there if you’d like.

I’ve actually been wondering what your gym looks like. Like what kind of amenities do you get? sorry for my ignorance btw. just curious.

Anyways, despite feeling down you still got a great workout there - so good on you!

haha thanks Greeney. he is usually pretty photogenic
He is a huge attention whore!

Masch- Since I moved, and no longer have to go out on week long missions to smaller FOBs, I actually have a really big/nice gym. I will try to get some pics.
The gyms I used to go to were small with shitty, old, broken, falling apart, make shift, taped together equipment.
