Hi Mel! I’m a little late to the party, but welcome to PW.

I’m really looking forward to following along. You are seriously strong! Keep up the amazing work!

I also try to schedule my deload according to my monthly cycle - although I usually deload the week before my period starts, because I’ve read that’s when you’re at your weakest and most prone to injury. The first week of your cycle is apparently a good time to ease into your heavier training again, without going overboard.

Yes!! I thought this was just me, but turns out there’s science. I’m actually not on the rag right now, just a good 3 days before it. AND my hammie is all achey! Thanks Blue, just learned something new.

and sorry to say, she gets WORSE as you age. at least that has been my experience and that of my friends. i swear once i hit 35, she really started messing with me…the emotional up and downs are what’s really annoying.

Tomorrow I will be going back to the gym. Fully rested. Hopefully no more cramps, fat bloated ass will hopefully go away.
I will be starting my Push/Pull split. I’m going to do it for a few weeks, and see how it works out.
In June I will be starting my diet, which can probably best be described as similar to the V Diet…But It’s my own creation. So we will see…

Brute- I should be home in 3 months. HOPEFULLY. but I don’t have an exact date yet…I am currently taking online college. No degree plan yet, I’m very indecisive. I’m also taking a Personal Trainer certification course online through ISSA.

MiM-I suck at dieting, I like to eat way too much, but I’m not happy with how I look and want to see how good I actually can look if I really fine tune this eating shit. I will be sure to post pics and measurements and yadda yadda…oh, and thank you very much. :]

Tonight we went and played basketball for a couple hours. It was fun, I ran, and sweat a lot. It’s about 110+ degrees here AT NIGHT now. And the dust is horrendous, so I was coughing up a lung.
Flo has subsided…for the most part. GYM TOMORROWWWWWW. can’t wait.

Hows that PT cert online work? Is it like daily assignments, etc?

I was thinking of doing the Strength and Conditioning one…I wonder if I would get paid to do it each month…or would the VA just fork over the money upfront?? hmmm

the NSCA one looks cool, but you have to have a bachelor’s degree to do it!

MiM- I am doing it online through ISSA. It is all self paced. The course is $500.00. As soon as you enroll they send you the course materials. All of the quizzes and tests can be taken online, or you can fill out the hard copy and send them in. You have 2 years to complete it.

Unfortunately for me, the military won’t pay for it, so I(actually my lovely wife) paid out of pocket. But I plan on trying to work part time doing this at a gym while I’m still in the military, so it will be extra money for me. ISSA has several courses ie: Strength and Conditioning, Nutrition, Youth Fitness, Sports Training, etc. I plan on doing a few courses.
