The Pursuit of Mythical Gains

@The_Myth I don’t think that sounds crazy at all! What is crazy is all your ex’s because on top of everything else you can cook like that :flushed: just more proof that women are crazy! Anyways, I got so pissed off at healthy food tasting nasty that I’m learning as much as I can to change that. One day I will have a countrygirl cookbook HA!

@MarkKO your healthy cooking thoughts that you have offered myself and others sound very good! I know your food is different than what I normally eat but I’m willing to try whatever.
You do not deserve your wine or cake or bacon or whatever the fuck. You don’t deserve jack shit.
Correction, I’m pretty sure I deserve my wine!!

All my ex’s? Lol, I currently only have one ex wife, working on the next one, lol.

Sorry, I didn’t mean for it to come out like you have a huge list LOL :joy: I knew there were two counting your current. I didn’t realize I typed “all” …all two of your ex’s?!?

Still just one ex, the one I put through med school, working on number two, lol.

Back and biceps
DL - PC warmup
3@75, 3@95 PC’s
135x5 DL’s
4x8@185 - SS with 4x12 HLR’s and 5x30 BPA’s
Machine rows 4x12 SS with hammer curls 4x12

Felt sick, quit. Missed out on preacher curls, lat pull downs and BB curls - might go back later today and finish.

Banged in at work, stopped at the store and bought bacon to make the keto meatloaf.

Hanging with the dog, will probably grade some papers, maybe get a massage, and clean up my man cave in the basement…or, I might just sleep.

Sorry for being unintentionally insensitive.
I looked up Keto meatloaf recipes but there are a lot so I will have to decide which I’ll attempt. Hopefully you feel better and get some rest!

No worries girlfriend, you weren’t insensitive at all. I take nothing personally, especially not here, unless I can have some fun being offended.

I was married for eleven years the first time, college girlfriend. She decided to go to med school when she was thirty, and I supported her, thought it would be a great idea.

My brother, who was an ER doctor, warned me I would be divorced within four years.

He was wrong.

It took seven, lol.

I moved to DC so she could go to GWU, lived in Bethesda, drove 67 miles to Bel Air every day to stay with the company I was with.

She matched in Internal in Sacramento, so quit my job and moved back to California. Three years later, asked me to get out. It was more about kids than anything, I wanted them, she didn’t. She was also the youngest of three daughters, had a little brother, and wanted to keep her own shit to herself, all good.

Well, I’ve always enjoyed the journey, so I was more than happy to go.

I was student teaching under contract at the time, so I just loaded up a U-Haul and moved to Florida where both my brothers were and became a golf pro.

That sounds a lot simpler than it is, but I was a PGA pro for five years. I already knew my current wife at the time and we just fell into a relationship, a rebound for me, and here I am eighteen years later, teaching English on Long Island with two great kids and a shitty marriage.

All good in the hood,

@Frank_C, I’m curious about a few things, would you mind emailing me?

Sure. Is there a way to do that through the forum? I clicked on your profile thinking it might show your e-mail but I can’t seem to find it (if it’s there).

I haven’t been following you (or anyone’s log) but glanced at the previous posts since you tagged me. I noticed you felt sick during your workout and you possibly follow a keto diet. Does that allow for any carbs? I haven’t tried it but people I know are restricted to 30g per day or some other absurdly low amount.

I’ve found that I get nauseous during a heavy training session if I don’t eat enough carbs beforehand. This is especially true for workouts that include lifts that cause my blood pressure to spike rapidly such as cleans, deads, squats. A little sugar can go a long way to help with that. I’ve started taking Jolly Ranchers to the gym. No more nauseous workouts.

No, if I had an email there you could see it, but, usually they miss shit like this spikefremont at sign aol with the associated dot com.

Thanks!

Yeah, that’s the deal. Ketostix to figure out if you’re burning fat (creating ketones).

I think you might be on to something.

The only downside to Jolly Ranchers is that I bite them. After a few workouts of eating 4-5 each day my teeth started to hurt. I’ll get a gummy version next time. The only thing that matters is getting simple carbs in you before & during your workout so you can spike insulin at the right time. I’m sure other candies work too.

Since you’re keto they could give you some fuel without blowing your day. 3 hard Jolly Ranchers is 70 calories with 17g carbs.

Yeah, just not getting into keto, lol, according to the ketostix.

I emailed you. If it didn’t work then email me. I have a Hotmail account that’s the same as this.

Awesome!! I didn’t think you were over sensitive but I am and felt really bad lol. Thank you for sharing and the golf part is badass! You are an interesting guy and I like to learn about people. I have so many questions but will try to stick to fitness topics. I hope your feeling better.

4x8@135 RPE 10

Crunches and vacuums between sets, Incline machine 4x12, pec deck 4x12, curls and tri pd’s 4x12 and 5x20.

I threw the bi’s in because I missed them on my back day. In keto now, according to the stix, workout felt a little better, still weak but stamina was better.

Weight is a little down so far this week, eating keto since Friday, will see what it looks like for the weekly average on Sunday - hope this shit works.

Yeah, the usual deal - 4x8 at 135 (pussy), BPA’s 5x30, Crunches 5X30, Vacuums 5x12, Extensions 4x12, Curls (legs) 4x12, and hammer curls for the gun show, 3x4.

Skinny as fuck, weighed in at 178 a few days ago, 183.6 this morning, the average weight for the week will be down about a pound this week. LBM hovers between 157 and 159. Touched two new lows this week, 178 BW and 12% BF, both are encouraging.

Keto - trippy shit. Been on it over a week now, and you can tell when you are keto. I use the stix to check, but you can’t rely on those. Pissing like a race horse and skanky breath is more reliable.

Another good indicator is lack of appetite and sudden bursts of energy.

I don’t think it’s a great deal for body builders, I feel like lack of appetite kind of screws up our gainz, but I’m going to stay on it for at least another week. I seem to be losing fat and holding on to LBM, but, doubt it’s a good long term diet due to lack of energy for the gym.

It takes about three days to get into Keto, so I think you need to plan it well. I can totally see it as a weekend deal to drop water, and certainly a plan prior to a show, but the energy and strength loss isn’t that beneficial.

I expect I will use it for a few more weeks, then use it again just prior to final pics, and then gorge on carbs to get all full and jacked, but I’m pretty flat and weak. Not sure I’m doing it all right, but, losing fat, getting lean, so will spend at least another week on it.

I think Paul Carter wrote a piece about how exogenous ketones are great when in prep, but I’m not completely sure it applies to a keto diet or not.

I will have to look that up. I’m not sure how much longer I’m going to stay in keto - it’s been successful for weight loss but I am a little worried about my training.

Speaking of which,

1-31-2017 - Shoulders

MP Machine 4x8, laterals 4x12, rear delts on pec deck 4x8, face pulls 4x12, Tri PD’s 3x4.
