I was sore and stiff yesterday from riding my bike again on Wednesday - about fifteen miles, just out of practice. I will do BP tomorrow, Squats Sunday, and decide whether to do OHP on Monday or Tuesday.

BBB sets felt good. I decided to switch from LP to 5/3/1 on Deadz because I didn’t feel like I was getting strong enough to keep adding weight and that I would benefit from more volume for both technique and volume. Got a good sweat going!

Good call. You’ll be glad you did.

Afraid of getting hurt by adding more weight than I can lift with good form. The BBB set was great…for now.

Personally, I preferred to opposite lifts for BBB with squat and DL. Mainly it was kinder to my hands on DL day.

Yeah, I can see that. Before SS I did a cycle of BBB opposite and I may go back to it. Eight sets of Deadz is a little cray cray, even at 50% of TM.

Well, I would say its fine but the doctors have me in a cast for “immobilisation purposes” for a month followed by rehab. So I’ll be out of the gym for at least 2-3 months at the very least. Haven’t been updating my training log since well, there is nothing to update.

Ouch. Dude, that sucks. Although, I’m glad you’re getting it fixed.

Surprised they didn’t put you in a straight jacket, JK.

It’s not that bad to be honest, it’s a good time for me to sort out all tons of issues, I’m currently visiting a chiropractor getting my slight scapular winging sorted out.

To be frankly honest, I probably don’t need the cast. The consultation with the wrist specialist went somewhere along the lines of…

checks my wrist and tells me I have a minor torn ligament (insert science-y doctor type stuff)
Doc : Are you very active?
Me : Yeap.
Doc : Were you still lifting after your injury?
Me : Yeap
Doc : Were you still lifting heavy or?
Me : Well, I’ve been training differently but I did break a few personal records.
Doc : Ok, I’m gonna put you in a cast just so you won’t move around so much and no more training OF ANY KIND until I clear you.

Jet lagged AF after flying back from Cali, can’t get my sleep right, stayed up all night and went to the gym at 7AM, which is supposed to be opening time but somebody slept in and I was not happy.

Everything was hard.

Funny story - we’re all out front waiting, I’m in cargo shorts and an XXL addidas shirt. We get in and I change into my lifting clothes, including a tank. About half an hour in, this guy comes up to me and says, “Dude, I didn’t realize how jacked you were standing out front. You’re bigger than you look.”

Made it worth standing around…almost.

I am not, sadly. Although he’s a good dude that I’ve been fortunate enough to lunch with and talk shop on nutrition. Sharp cat and a good guy.

That’s when you show them and do safety bar squats, suitcase deadlifts, harness sprints and all the rest.

Not a fan of having to drop ALL training just because of a wrist. Just don’t use the wrist lol

Haha, well I don’t like taking time off either but I realized that I’m pretty inseparable from the gym. That’s the main reason why I took time off to be honest, kind of to prove to myself that I can. Even now(2 weeks later), I still semi-regularly pass by my school gym and chat with the staff there. That and its the exam period and some extra studying couldn’t hurt.

You know you’re a gym rat/meat head when you know every single staff at the gym on a first name basis and they know you too.
