I gotta say, I’d get a real kick out of an Iron Dwarf meme thread. Though I’m not sure where the line would be drawn as far as going too far is. But I guess I’d know it in retrospect, and might even be hurt by a few.
Evidently the Doc is upset with a few posts (I hope none of the were mine). But if I had a real problem with the Doc, I’d just ignore this thread totally. I have a lot of respect for him (even though we’ve exchanged heated words more than once), and on first glance it seems disrespectful to post here. But I think many of us posted good-naturedly as a humorous homage to the generous big guy.
ID, nobody here doesn’t like you, with the exception of some aggressive coments from X. So, different story.
I doubt many in this forum even lift weights…which is why when arguments from the bodybuilding forum leak over here, everything goes to shit quickly.

I don’t understand why people would be here unless they lifted weights?
I don’t know what these forums used to be like way back when, I do know there seems to be more arguing than anything else at the moment. Forum needs a fucking marriage counselor.
I would like to cut the crap and I rarely come to the GAL forums, I tend to go between the bodybuilding forum and the t-cell alpha and sometimes the beginner forum.
I agree there is nothing in the bodybuilding forum that really corresponds to bodybuilding training other than variables that just don’t matter that much as long as you eat and train hard… The beginners forum is a bloody joke, the stickies don’t get read, if I didn’t love the articles on this site so much I wouldn’t be here anymore… I completely sympathize with you wanting to chew the fat with guys who actually share similar goals, but it’s just not going to happen here anymore… Not when people don’t even understand that you need to actually gain muscle before you cut if you want to look like you lift.
Bulking is in my opinion more simple than cutting well, people can’t even do that then they’re screwed when it comes to actually losing bodyfat and keeping muscle.
As for all this crap about guys from IM forum coming here for other reasons, what other reasons? I wouldn’t be surprised if some of them have so little of a life that they’re actually doing some secret ‘screw the T-Nation forums up’ campaign.
It really shows, most care more about their ego being caressed online than getting real results…

Every successful forum has moderators that will ban trolls or people who disrespect other members. T-Nation doesn’t! The day this board has some sort of rules and the moderatos start banning people who come here to only stir shit up is the day T-Nation will be a serious bodybuilding forum.
People here often make fun of bodybuilding.com as if it was so much more different than T-Nation. The only difference I see is that on here we have mostly body/face-less members while bodybuilding.com has 15 year olds wanting abzz. If anything, bodybuilding.com has more impressive physiques because they seem to have higher traffic.
I highly doubt T-Nation will ever moderate their boards though, it’s all business and they need to keep all the useless members to sell their supplements.
I’m jusr reading this becasue it’s funny, I don’t really give a fuck about Prof-x one way or the other.
However the comment here about T-Nation moderating their forums makes me laugh since some of us here remember the day when every single post went into a que and had to be approved by a mod.
Every single post.
I prefer it the way it is now, trolls and all personally as opposed to waiting an hour for my posts to show up.

No, I’m saying I take no personal offense. I know it was in jest, just like the other people posting the other stuff in this thread. But you were the one maintain that doing it is a big deal and people shouldn’t while in the same post doing exactly that to prove the point that is completely fucking retarded and childish.
Fixed the end of your post.
Only that it proved my point.
No, because it was already stirred by the post I responded to.
How did I defend them when I didn’t address them. Someone who gets mad about jokes on a GAL forum has far more problems than the people posting the jokes. Which is why I addressed you and not them.

I would consider T-Nation a successful forum. Alexia says T-Nation is number 2,522 in the US. Considering the sheer number of websites out there, I think thats pretty successful for a niche sport like bodybuilding.
T-Nation has moderators. They wield their ban-hammers with judicious caution, but wield them nonetheless. Try finding a user by the name of Kiplemet. His ID was wiped from the face of the site. The only other example I can think of where I witnessed a member getting banned was in the early days of the T-cell when someone (suspicion suggests Merlin, but no concrete evidence) got access and threatened to commit physical harm to another member and his family. Guy was gone within hours.
It is my personal opinion that the Mods are somewhat loose in their control because its often difficult to tell the difference between good-natured ribbing and vitriolic attack, and the management takes a stance that censorship should only be used when the aggressor has undoubtedly crossed the line. That they are so permissive should be taken as an act of faith in the membership to police themselves.
I like T-Nation. I’m sorry that you don’t share my appreciation.

Brick, I’ve been meaning to talk to you about that. You should find yourself a safehouse or a relative close by. Lay low for a while, because you’re probably wanted for murder.
I have seriously never seen anyone take the internet as seriously as you do. If you can honestly say that you didn’t chuckle at any of the mash ups (especially those posted by members who admittedly respect you and what you contribute to this site), then I’m truly sad for you. I hope whatever is going down in your personal life that has you so clouded you can’t even laugh at yourself gets resolved, and I’m sending positive thoughts your way.
I just find irony in the following things you posted in your very attempt to defend Prof. X against the “personal attacks.” Especially, since nothing I said was personally attacking him. So why single me out and insult my intelligence? Do I get an e-hero now, too, just in case people I work for come on here and see the oh so terrible things you said about me? I need one more than PX, because I have a large chunk of my actual name in my screen name.
I’m not in college, and my floors are actually pretty dirty, atm.
This is not a personal attack, just an inquiry…so correct me if I’m wrong, but you strike me as the sort of fellow who gets in a lot of fights at bars.

LOL, I remember an old GAL thread with World of Warcraft gamer that HATED IronDwarf. They kid was a jerkoff but it was kind of funny at the same time.

I don’t know if you post in other more serious bodybuilding boards. If you do then you know exactly what I’m trying to get at, If you don’t then whatever.
Yeah I remember that too.
I think there is a happy medium between modding every post and no modding at all.
Many sites had mods that basically check out the treads and if somebody is being as asshole, they call them out.
They’ve got a system where a user can alert on a post, so that mod can check the post out to see if it is a problem.
For what it is worth they don’t allow threads whose purpose is to call out other members.
Personally I would like to see T-Nation do some moderation. I have not been around here in a while,
Well, this thread took a turn that, while initially unexpected, I should have seen coming from a mile away.
Regarding the privacy issue: Professor X is the most well-known and prolific poster on this site. His entire persona - something I feel he oftentimes purposely projects for the reactions it receives - is such that it’s no wonder he has a fair bit of notoriety. He even created an entire thread dedicated to people talking about how much they dislike him.
To put yourself out there the way he does and to then publicly post pictures makes it a little silly to act shocked and offended when they resurface on the very same site you frequent. Particularly when the main image is one that is publicly displayed as the tag for every single post under your name.
The picture is also altered so it’s not a very clear image of the guy… size aside, it’s not a clear enough image of his face to make me pick him out of a lineup based solely on his mug shot just by glancing at it. I kinda-sorta grimaced when Hallowed threw up the other picture of him (not for any aesthetic reason, mind you), but I can see where she was coming from since it was also publicly posted in a GAL thread. Wouldn’t have been my choice to do that, but there you go.
It’s also not like the image is of him nesting his sack in a ladle over in TILF.
But… a fair number of the participants in this thread were doing so more because they had an axe to grind rather than a humorous contribution to make (Lou brought this up and I agreed on page 8). Can’t really argue with this. It was meant to be a humorous collection of PG-rated ‘X-isms’ which, unfortunately, drew out people who were just looking to either vent or contribute memes that were more mean-spirited than funny.
Those people are lame and they took the thread in a shitty direction by assuming people actually give a rat’s ass that their feelings got hurt way back when. No one cares, though, interestingly enough, they are also typically the first to whine about X needing to chill since it’s only the Internet.
I can see how X would get pissed at those particular posts. While I feel the concept of the thread is fairly tame when executed properly (you gotta admit some were pretty solid), it definitely went away from the original intent at one point. Mostly by people with little sense of humor and poor coping mechanisms.
If X honestly feels this will negatively impact his life in some way, I wouldn’t hold it against him if he wanted it deleted. I wouldn’t expect this meme to spread anywhere beyond this site since they aren’t particularly funny in and of themselves, so it would fade quickly enough.
neelydan once pm’d professor x and asked him a shitload of questions, which he took the time to answer, multiple times
neelydan is a fan of having a complete jackass persona on these boards, including the third person thing, because, well, it’s fun
neelydan doesnt mind that professor X is a total prick sometimes, as neelydan despises 99% of society and does nothing but despise them - at least X gives back some
besides, neelydan is scared shitless of big black dudes like X and that Beast guy
