I was very surprised from the lack of soreness from my skills evaluation, as well as none of the work today was particularly extra hard/a grind to get through because of Wednesday’s training.
What is your reasoning behind squatting beltless? I know you use a belt in meets, so I’m wondering why.
Good training as always.

Get the core and spinal errectors strong(er). Also, the belt gives a lifter carryover.

x2 I’m finding I get more out of my belt the less I use it.

With your meet looming, do you plan on dropping weight? On that note, what are your thoughts on making weight for meets?

I surprisingly lost 5-10lbs during my time on Sheiko, I’m back down to 210lbs. This was not my intention, but I’ve been getting stronger, so I’ll take it.
The USAPL has 2 hour weigh-in’s. There’s no way I’d be able to lose 12lbs and do well haha
My thoughts on making weight for meets, as Matt Rhodes once told me “Don’t cut even a single pound unless you’re going for a World Record”

That is probably the BEST advice I’ve ever heard regarding weight dropping for a meet.
Kicking ass in here man. Looks like there are more and more people turning to Sheiko these days, which is awesome. Why do you think many people are “scared” of it and think there’s no way they could do it? Serious question, btw.
