Congratulations on surviving the first phase old man. Way to go testing your max after a crap ton of volume.[/quote]
I’m looking forward to having a few days off now. I’m thinking I’ll tes bench on Tuesday and Squats either Thursday or Friday.
I think the two week switching phase is going to be hard for me because its boring speed work and I don’t do well at that sort of thing.

Yeah, I’m fully willing to admit I would tell anyone not to do both at the same time. I just had an idea i could do it.
NUTTERS!!!
way to go Joe. you need to smash those PRs now.
and more sammiches. sammiches are always good.
Pastrami FTW! Man, I gotta think if you could get that 405 for a quarter after ridiculous volume like that, your max will actually be more than that. Sadistic sick work man.
I was going to comment but then mainy’s avatar waylaid my brain…

Went to the gym to help Ronda with her final meet prep and couldn’t resist doing something. I’m going to buckle down and stick to the program from now on.
What? Isn’t smolov enough work for you already???
Solid training and I can’t believe you were in the mood to do the extra work and especially deads!
james
He did amazing
I was so excited he made his DL PR ![]()
Just hanging out the gym. Deadlifting PRs for fun. Great unscheduled deadlifting.
Sometimes it’s the unscheduled, off the cuff stuff that goes the best because you don’t have much mental invested in it. Great job Joe.
So, how come there are no videos in here? We like videos.

Mostly because I have goten out of the habit of videoing during the Smolov stuff because theres no time when you have that sort of volume. I tried to do some on Fri but my battery had somehow died from lack of use or something. I’m going to recharge the day thing and try to get vids of my retests.
Congratulations Joe! You’re on the PR train, keep em coming.
PRs as usual! Nice Joe!
You need to replace the pirate avi with a PR avi.
So I’ve been reading on Smolov and finding it interesting, in a masochistic kind of way. Spose to be a program to help work up to a meet and blow through some PR’s by about 30lbs or so on squats. And as we know, that can translate to deads as well.
Now I’m a believer, but I think Dr. Smolov is probably six feet under by now cause that program looks like it will bring out the beast in most people.
work load was cray
nice work joe.
nice casual dead pr.
