The Path to Paradise Begins in Hell

Joe, have a great Thanksgiving! Feel free to share the type and amount of the food destruction that ensues.

I’m considering making a thread so everyone can show their excess.

You and yours have a great one.

I couldn’t get to the place to do HLR’s so I did a ton of kneeling cable crunches.

I got a bit lower with 365 but I need to get it down further soon. Still all in all a good day for the fourth of four days in a row.

I got busy so I only got one picture, but it’s of the 29lb turkey. Which I will post tomorrow.

No prowler but I do have farmer’s walk bars and a sled for dragging.

Thanks, I plan on ramping up the conditioning a lot until I’m a few weeks out from the next meet.

So I’m about three months out from the next meet and its a good time to take stock of my training and progress. Since the last meet at the end of Sept. I’ve added about 25lbs to my DL and about the same to my squat plus maybe 5lbs to bench. The last few days I let the diet go and just ate what I wanted over the holidays and then did a lot of GPP.

As a result I feel better and a few aches and pains have cleared up with the break and excess calories. The next two months will tell the tale of the meet in Feb. if I can keep grining out steady progress i should be okay and in position to at least make a run at my goals.

I’m going to need to figure out some conditioning options for the winter, other than the hateful task of shoveling snow.
I suppose I could sled drag in the snow with boots on but the suck factor is too high. I’ll probably do KBs.

Given your climate issues I think KB’s are the best option as well.

That, as they say, is HUGE!

Congrats on a solid jump in the deadlift.

That is fantastic progress. Are you happy with it? Keep it up!

Happy is relative but I am pleased. The things is though that I set such a weight increase as a goal that I need progress like that just to keep up.

Hatred of failure is one of my primary motivators so setting stupid goals can be kind of helpful.

You really have been making tremendous progress. It’s really fun to check in and see what new PR you’ve hit.

BTW, what kind of juice are you drinking for breakfast?

No juice but I have a banana as soon as I wake up.
