The Optimal Breakfast?

Hey guys, am very curious to hear what people have for breakfast, specifically from people who consider themselves fairly hardcore bodybuilders.

So here’s mine, blended all together in a mixer:

  • Oatmeal
  • Whey Protein (Metabolic Drive)
  • Blueberries
  • Pumpkin Seeds
  • Natural Yoghurt

Apricots (Seperatly)

I really like it as:
A) Very easy and fast to make, you just simply blend it and drink it.
B) Its a nice way of getting those horrible blueberries/pumpkin seeds inside you, ugh!!

Very curious to hear any other recommended added healthy ingredients or simply complete alternatives.

olive oil

That looks very similar to my first meal of the day. I usually use some sort of healthy fat, 1 cup oats, 1/2 cup blueberries, and protein. However, I usually have this at around 6-6:30 in the morning, then eat a more “traditional” breakfast around 8-8:30 consisting of oatmeal, eggs, egg whites, and some serving of fruit.

Ah thats a very nice addition. Although personally I have that with many meals through out the day.

I knew eggs would be brought into the picture
So you split it into 2 sort of mini breakfasts? Or do you eat every 2 hours in general anyways?

I usually eat every 2-3 hours. The first breakfast, or first thing in the morning shake, usually has between 6-750 calories depending on the protein, fats used, etc. The second breakfast usually is 3 full eggs, and like 10-12 egg whites with oatmeal and fruit and is around 750 calories. I like trying to maximize the number of times I eat earlier on in the day because insulin sensitivity is high and I can afford it. Also, since I train around 4, and I usually have class from 1-3, I don’t eat after 12:30 so I always want to get 3 meals in before then. I have ALWAYS experienced better results when I eat in this manner.

Omelet:
2 eggs + 4 egg whites
grilled peppers
grilled onions
grilled mushrooms
avocado

Wash it down with green tea + lemon

I just do email and manage my investments/securities while I cook, takes 15 minutes tops. Also, I use coconut oil to cook in which gives omelets an awesome taste.

My favorite breakfast when I don’t lift upon rising is similar to yours:

1 cup of oats
1 cup of frozen blueberries
50g whey isolate
5g L-leucine
Ice

blend together…delicious.

1/2 bag - 1 bag frozen blueberries
1/2 bag frozen spinach
1/2 bag frozen broccoli
2 cups yogurt
1/2 can coconut milk
1 scoop greens powder
4 tablespoons hemp protein powder

~1200 cal

Half a cup of oats made up in water and I then mix in:
Scoop of protein powder.
Scoop of superfood.
30g’s of peanut butter.
1tbsp of olive oil.
1tbsp of wheat bran.

Green tea and Flameout, job done.

1cup oats
1 banana
4oz egg whites
8oz almond milk
greens powder
4tbs peanut butter
1.5scoops of pea protein powder
~1100 calories

1 cup skim milk
1 cup oatmeal
2 raw eggs
1 cup mixed fruit
1 spoonful of ground flaxseed
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 scoop 30g whey isolate
every morning for the past yr and I still love it.

2 cups 1% milk
1 banana
and or 1tsp peanut butter
2 servings of EAS or Metabolic Drive
blend

works great for me. I’m also getting the urge of eating more solid food for breakfast and need to implement something other than a protein drink.

what’d you watch me cook my breakfast? lol

4-5 jumbo eggs
red, green, yellow bell peppers and onions grilled, sometimes mushrooms too
1 large potato diced into cubes and cooked beforehand
Scramble it all together.

If I’m too lazy to do the potato I’ll do a cup of oatmeal.

Either way it’s between 650-750 calories.

I used to do do

1 cup milk
2 scoops ON whey
large spoonful natty pb
1/2 cup oats
big ass banana
blend and enjoy

'Twas killer, but decided I like solid food better.

So you eat around 15 eggs every morning on top of oatmeal and fruit?!? Wow thats a serious breakfast, I can down around 8 max with oatmeal before I feel like I’m going to blow, granted this is usually with a protein shake, but non-the-less you really pack it in.

Haha, I eat 3 full eggs, and then add in like the equivalent of 10 egg whites for protein. That’s not 15 eggs and is far less substance than that of 15 eggs, but nonetheless, somedays it is a lot, I wolf it down anyways because my comfort isn’t always issue number one when eating hah.
