I have a hilarious story for everyone out there. I have been looking around for some lifting chalk for a while. I didnt want to buy it online because I didnt want to pay for shipping. So I finally find this place called The Fitness Store.
They sell mostly commercial gym equipment. There are two guys behind the desk. One is pretty big but has a lot of bodyfat. The other is very skinny. I am talking to the big guy about needing chalk and he said they just got some in. He asked what it was for and I said to help with my deadlift. I dont want to wear wraps. This guy seems pretty knowledgable so we get to talking about grip strength, powerlifting, 1000lb bench presses.
I told him I was in to Alwyn Cosgrove training, and I like to throw in some powerlifting as well. This is where it gets funny. The skinny guy chimes in, “Ive been doing some powerlifting stuff lately too. Have you ever heard of Crossfit?” My jaw hit the floor. He then tells me about all is 100 rep and mile run workouts. I dont want to turn this in to a Crossfit bashing thread but can you think of anything that could be more opposite of powerlifting? Unbelievable.
