The Open Boat

Love the new avi too!

How’s everything going? Gymnastics? No junk food? Lifting? Running? The hip?

Hope all is well

New avi is awesome! Damn you got a nice pair of stems on you. Jealous. And its true, you are THE pullup queen.

Your resolve to eat healthy is commendable. Stick with it! I break my fast in the afternoon, lol - so I feel you on not wanting to eat unless its something you fancy (stubborn ain’t ya!). Don’t they have healthy versions of your beloved sugary stuff?

you can’t always control what happens to you, but you CAN control how you react and what you put in your mouth.

i shake my head at people who indulge or go buckwild after a breakup… if the silly fuck is sorry enough to make you feel bad, why do ANYTHING else that’s not good for you? only thing thats gonna make you feel better is YOU. and whether or not you wrap your mind around whats goin on.

now. more barely clothed nads pics pls. avi is a nice start. bear wants moar.

me toooo!!!

do you take chondrointin for your hips? helps me…(I had a little issue with rowing/bursitis)

do you do eggs? I love breakfast foods because you can do low carby with the eggs and turkey bacon…and omelets…and more eggs ;)…egg white protein pancakes! love eggs! eggs and salsa…eggs and Cinnamon…

Kimba: Interesting analogy. I’m keeping at it. But not today. Oops. Do tell–how long did it take you to get over Tony the Tiger? Do you still think he’s great!!!

Nikki: Seriously, 2x as long, who has time for that? But who wants to wear defective jeans all the time?

Thanks Puff. Good to know I’m not alone in dreading the single leg work. I’ll get over it though–once I see the pay off.

Cal: I just don’t have a problem with carbs I guess. Lucky.

Alexus: thanks for the breakfast tips. Oats are good, and they’re what I usually eat. But even dressed up differently–they’re still just oats.

Thanks frenchie: I think what I miss most is the convenience of processed foods. Seriously, you can eat and take a pop tart anywhere. I know it doesn’t take much time to cook oats, and I have heard of tupperware, so I know eating healthy on the go is doable. And I’m learning to do it.

Hi Veggie: I’m good. I’m coming off of a hip rehap focused deload, which seems to have paid off. My Hip is substantially improved–and suprisingly very close to 100%. I’m going to test it at gymnastics tomorrow. And soda consumption is down and green tea consumption is up! I’m doing pretty well with that

Thanks Masch: I think healthy food is also just more filling. I mean a bowl of oatmeal really sticks with you. Normally a grazer of an eater, it’s kind of alarming for me to eat oats for breakfast and than not be hungry all day. Eating and being hungry makes me feel alive. You know? Being piggish feels good.

Cbear: I have broken up with junk food. Okay, it’s not a clean break. I still eat it after 6 pm and on the weekends. The problem for me is forcing myself to eat healthy food during the day. I’m working on it. But let’s be real, a bowl of coco puffs is much easier to eat in the morning than a bowl of oatmeal.

Bre: No I don’t take Clondrointin, but I’ll look in to it. Thanks. Fortunately, hip has come a long way after this week off.

Brute: I like eggs. And I have been eating them a fair amount for breakfast. Bacon is nice too. But we usually only have bacon on the weekends with waffles. Now, that’s my kind of breakfast.

are you doing 5 sets of 5 reps for all of these? just wondering. I love these…they totally grew my shoulders in a matter of weeks.

You & boring just don’t mesh in my mind.

You know how I feel about BBB? However w/that being said, if you wanna switch it up give this a shot.

superset while seated.

Seated plate raise w/a wt you’re comfortable with. Preferably a 25lb plate. Holding wt at the 3 & 9 on a clock. Followed by seated lat raise. Again w/wt you’re comfortable with. Using d-bells.

3 sets 8-12 reps. That will fry your shoulders.

My morning scenario:

get out of bed with eyes still closed
put water to boil
go pee
add water to quick cook oates/ frozen berries and protein
mix and eat.

it’s about 1.5 minutes longer than my nemesis breakfast: honeynut cheerios

I saw the 2 x bw deadlift nice!
As far as the breakfast thing, I eat whatever for breakfast, and usually it is not breakfast food. Cottage cheese, wraps, sammiches, leftovers from the night before, what ever is easiest.

yes, tis true, they are still oats. i’ll admit i’m often tempted to forget about the oats and just mix some fruit and nuts through my yoghurt. the oats are just to make me feel better about the yoghurt, anyway. i really can eat that stuff by the tub… i forgot to mention 80% chocolate - or as high as you can get. that goes pretty good with yoghurt, too. i mean oats.

I thought this said… something else giggle
I didn’t understand how holding a cock was a good accessory for shoulders =D

My breakfast is french toast with honey and syrup. I can’t offer advice in this department.

:)…interesting thread.

Subliminal innuendo is something I always keep in my quiver.

howdy, just catching up…

I still find it funny that you existed on pop tarts. I never have been a breakfast person. More like a morning coffee person. And I’ll chug a shake before the gym or have cottage cheese.

Bre: No, I’m not doing 5x5 with my MPs. But, that might be a good idea for me. My mp hasn’t seen much forward progress, and I feel like I should be better at it. Maybe a change up is needed. Thanks for the thought.

Thanks for the ideas Print. I’ll give them a try!

Frenchie: I’m impressed that you can do anything before you go pee. Wow. And you eat immediately upon rising.

Thanks Charlie. leftovers for breakfast work too.

Alexus: You’re funny. Yogurt is health food in my book. Have you tried putting whipped cream on oatmeal–now that is delicious.

Nikki: Mmmm that’s a nice sticky and sweet breakfast. Sounds yummy. Cocks for grip work?

Hi Glap and thanks. That’s 2 I’m not boring votes!

Mim: Oh no I don’t discriminate against carbs–pop tarts, cookies, sugary cereal, pancakes, chips, bread–that’s what I (used) to live on.

++++++++++++++++++++++++
So, I’ve gone to an 8 day training cycle, and I’m not running because of the hip, which leaves me feeling like I’m not working very hard. Gymnastics yesterday. That lit my hip up a bit, which is discouraging, but I’m still not cutting it. At once a week I’m just treading water there, which is frustrating to no end. But, that’s the way it goes.

Work: I have another big argument tomorrow. I actually won that last case, which I was very pleased about. This case is ridiculous. The state didn’t concede, but they didn’t advance a real legal argument either. Instead, their position is so what that we (may have) cheated–defendant is despicable–look how awful he is. See, see, see. But that’s not the game. Except sometimes it is. And then it leaves me to despair. The system has no integrity. My work doesn’t matter. I need to win.

That… that may just work!
You’re counting votes for not boring?

COUNT ME IN! Here’s the ballot. NADIA’S NOT BORING
Check.

LOL I forgot that this was work-related. I was wondering who on earth plans personal arguments :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry about the not-so-bright side of things in the training and work department. You have an excellent mentality for your job though. If how you train is any clue.
I wish I can help =(

Here’s a hug
hugs!

Hmm…I vote an enthusiastic YES to ballot title NADIA’S NOT BORING.

So what exactly does an 8 day training cycle entail? I can’t believe I never thought of “cycling” something past 7 days? Just goes to show what a total square I am!

Hey, treading water with the gymnastics for hip purposes is totally legit! I mean, if that’s what you have to do right now to keep the hip healthy while not detraining the gymnastics, then that’s what you gotta do. Seems like the smartest route.

That MP day looked great! Nice work mama!

Go get 'em tomorrow. Never give up! Never surrender!

P.S. I’m glad your hip is better. You’ll be back to your normal schedule soon enough.
