That is one of the most hardcore things I’ve heard around TN Nadia. I’m glad to find people who understand/value the complexity of life and living. You surprise me with these little things. I like that. keep trucking.

I like this too! And I think that many of us who are into fitness, including myself, forget this as well.
UGH! I hear ya on the weaksauce workouts and deloading - its true, sometimes you just need to take some time off from the lifting and comeback renewed. At any rate 5x5 BW pullups is good stuff if you ask me.
LOL @ graying pubes. I’m just waiting for this to happen. I’ve had white hair on my head since I was 20! Or maybe I’ll be jet black down there until I’m 80…now wouldn’t that be something? HAHAH!
I don’t have any grays yet at 45. But the wrinkles around my eyes are the giveaway. Amazingly, they don’t bother me much. When I once lamented aging, my aunt (who looks fab in her late 60s) said, “Karen, consider the alternative.” It was a bit of a lightbulb moment. So unlike roguevampire, who won’t reveal his age, I’m proud to own up to mine.
LOL Kimba - you remind me of that episode of Sex & the City where Samantha grows back her pubes because her boyfriend likes a full bush, and is horrified to discover she has some greys down there.
I have to say the Hollywood look just doesn’t work for me, so I just mow the lawn and trim the borders, so to speak. I’ve a few greys on my head (which I’m now dying…) but nothing below the waist, fortunately. I’m dreading finding my first white pube, but I think it’ll be some time coming.
Kimba: Yes, snow is a runner’s nightmare. Watch that footing and stay safe.
Bobbie: Aw shucks. You tease me.
Masch: You little hottie! And I agree 5x5 on pullups is a fine set, but they just felt so damn bad. Bleghh.
Snap: From what I can see you definitely don’t look 40, forget about 45. And I agree, better to live to be a raisin than get smashed while you’re still a grape. Wow, I am cornball.
Cal: Sex in the city is not a show I’ve ever watched…sounds like I might enjoy it. But, I think it would drive my husband to gouge his eyes and ears out.
Nikki: I always enjoy your posts–they are as motivating as your training. You got it going on for a young thing.
++++++++++
Training: I ran 5 miles yesterday. I’m feeling a familiar ache in my ankle. I must be overdoing it, but I’m such a fucking cardio addict. I really want to run again today–especially since I don’t get to lift. I hate rest days. I marvel at my ability to make the same training mistakes over and over again. It’s a gift.
Eh…you and me both. I do all sorts of stuff I know I shouldn’t, but there’s a little voice in my head that says “hey, it’ll be different this time.” Yeah, right.
Incidentally, my sciatica definitely seems to stem from my piriformis rather than my lower back.
I haven’t run since my 15K and it’s been absolutely fine, despite caning my spine in the gym. I really want to do a half marathon in 2011, so I’ll either have to find a way to fix it, or else grit my teeth. Bastard thing.
I understand the cardio addiction, but don’t be stupid. Do complexes or something instead of running for one day per week until the ache stops. It won’t kill you!

MUAH
That’s what I’m here for girly ;D
I know you love running, but be careful, k?
Either ease up or you’ll have to give it up altogether because of the ankle.
Cal: Sorry about the sciatic. But, now that you’ve pinned down the problem area perhaps you’ll have more luck fixing it? The half is probably my favorite distance to run. I hope you find your eay to running one in 2011.
Kimba: I backed off. I’m just annoyed with myself for not recognizing that I needed to before I started hurting. I need to remember to deload the running too and pay more attention to my mileage instead of being so haphazard about it.
Nikki: You’re absolutely right. All things in moderation. I wish I could wake up and run 5 miles everyday, but my body has said, time and time again, that it would prefer not to. Ahh Bartleby.
Frenchie: Youâ??re not on a different planet. One of the reasons Iâ??m so reluctant to stop and sit and rest is because I know full well the force that physics has on my bodyâ??at rest, I want to stay at restâ??in motion, Iâ??m inclined to stay in motion.
Hi Mim! Hope your kiddos had fun too and happiness and contentment reigned on Christmas morning.
Training related. Hubby came through with the belt; it’s so stiff and hard (that’s what she said) and red! I love the color and the way it feels. It’s very pretty. I’m looking forward to breaking it in and using it. But, it doesn’t look very pretty on. My husband looks so hot in his belt–his v shape accentuated.
But, because I am short waisted and slim through the hips, wearing such big belt takes away an hint of curve that I have on the bottom and makes me look shapeless and straight, like a stick.
Lucky me! I got another workout related present–a shake weight! It was a joke. “Go from flabby to firm in just 6 minutes a day.” Damn that thing is hilarious and awful. We had fun with it.
And no there won’t be any vidoes of me wearing my pretty new red belt and shaking my shake weight.
