The Olympians

For 80’s bodybuilding fans, below are a few links I found on youtube that may interest you.

I grew up in the 80s, with giant sized posters of these bodybuilders hanging on the gym walls, so coming across these videos is a real blast from the past.

Hope you enjoy them.

Olympia 1983 - announcing the top six

Olympians - Lee Haney

Olympians - Samir Bannout

Olympians - Mike Christian

Olympians - Victor Richards

Olympians - Berry DeMey

Olympians - Bob Paris

Bertil Fox

great videos man!!

The caption on the bertil fox video says hes in jail. What for? He seemed like a decent enough guy from watching those videos.

Edit:

Heres a video I saw on the side, pretty impressive to say the least.

Double murder.

Victor Richards clip was the most inspiring thing I saw in a while and it will defenetly help me in the weight-room. He explains how its a ritual for him and taking a day off is like taking the bottle away from the baby. I feel the same way.

5"9 290 by the way…that man is a BEAST

And I honestly dont think he juiced either.

I honestly think you are a fool.

Wow, the Olympians… I was always a big Zeus fan myself.

When Victor Richards got a pro contract with weider in 92’ he hadnt even climbed through the amateur ranks. Weider signed him off of potential and faith. So you know he’s a beast.

HEY CHECK OUT THIS VIDEO OF VICK WALKING ON STAGE…MAAAASSSSIIIVVE 330 at 5"9 Vic Richards in FIBO - YouTube

Victor Richards was one of the biggest juicers ever. Not to discount his genetic gifts, but come on. I’m certain one of his genetic gifts was probably how well he rsponded to anabolics. Look at Lee Priest. It’s always been said that he uses much less than a majority of BBers out there. Besides, if Bertil truly were just genetically programed to be a big muscular dude, he wouldn’t look as crappy as he does now. There have been many older BBers who still display some hint of the physicuqes they used to have. Bertil looks like a haggard old man.

That Haney vid was great though. Love the workout attire of the 80’s -lol

Where have you seen Bertil lately? I can’t imagine a Carribean jail diet and being a little unmotivated to train would do wonders for anyone’s physique.

Where’d you see current pics of Bertil? I did a Google search and came up with zilch.

When the story first broke about his trying to kill his wife with a shotgun, a few papers ran a pic of him where he was wearing a sportsjacket (suit?) and he looked to be drowning in it. He had also either shaved his head, or had it cropped real close, but I still vividly recall the look of just weariness on his face. Kinda sad.

Yeah, Fox’s fall from grace was a rather tragic. As for Mr Big last time I checked the man was still a fucking beast. On Samir, I’m a fan of his “high flying” cable crossover when he trained.
