This, or a defensive back like an OLB. I honestly can’t see athletes of other sports matching the power, explosiveness, agility and endurance that said NFL players possess.

A bit biased here as I am one but I also think Rugby players are fantastically well rounded athletes (both league and union), take a look at some of the players in the NRL, top example is a guy called Greg Inglis he’s brutally strong, ridiculously fast and has fantastic skills with the ball.
Oh and Sonny Bill Williams as well, this guy’s played both codes at the highest level and is also a professional boxer AT THE SAME TIME!
This whole topic boils down to what aspects of “athleticism” you hold the highest regard for.
IMO, the top teir guys would be (in no particular order)
NFL guys like AP, TO (back in the day), Megatron and Ware from Dallas.
NBA guys like LeBron, Nate Robinson and maybe Westbrook/Rose (can’t stand those his but they are freaks)
Rugby “backs” (I’m not very familiar with rugby but whatever their equivalent to a RB/OLB would be.
I think that if they had grown up in America quite few of the top Rugby ayers would be NFL guys today.
I am placing a higher value and size/strength/speed/power/body control in my assessment of “athleticism” but that is just my personal opinion.
If you look at what sport develops the most athletic qualities I would say rugby. I don’t necessarily think that it has the most athletic guys playing it but I think that the guys that play rugby have their athletic potential maximized by the sport they play in itself more so than any other.

What avatar bet did you lose this time DB?
Who are you? I haven’t made any avatar bets since you joined. How do you know about my propensity for engaging in avatar bets?
And for the record, I chose this avatar myself. I didn’t lose any bet.
I am SmashingWeights, my friends call my Toot.
I’ve read here since 2006, had an old account but forgot my log in and password.
I’ve recently stepped back into the game and actually started posting.
Put me in coach.
Solid choice, I think the ball gag really brings out your eyes.

I think it’s actually a pacifier. I’m not sure, I’m too scared of looking closely.

I used to.
It was a one time unfortunate turn of events with glutenous chili dogs, sexy red and a 5th grade class.
Bad timing.
I think that, in terms of agility, relative strength, and coordination, olympic gymnasts take the cake. Then again, if you let them run into a football player or vice versa… A bit lacking in brute strength and mass.
The issue is that professional sports are so diverse it really depends on your standards. Crossfitters are right about this one - nobody’s going to be great at everything.

We are speaking non-ghey
This is pretty non-ghey. May not be a sport or athletic, but definitely non-ghey.
