The Most Impressive, Well-Rounded Athletes?

This is a pointless question but I was just wondering what your opinions are. Which sport do you think produces the most physically impressive, well-rounded athletes?

By the way, when I say most impressive, I mean in terms of athletic ability, strength, power and endurance. I’m not referring to aesthetics at all.

For my money I don’t think rugby players can be beaten for a combination of strength, agility and endurance. I know they can be beaten on each individual point, I just don’t think other athletes have the full package in the way that they do.

My number 2 pick would probably be mixed martial artists, although I don’t think you have to have particularly good raw strength to do well in the sport.

This will go basketball and gymnasts.

Me I say pro football but I am a homer.

Basketball, and it’s not even close. Speed, strength, power, quickness, endurance, agility, dexterity, leaping ability, hand-eye coordination, footwork, reaction… This isn’t even up for debate.

Told you knew WF would be in here.

He is a homer himself

I was going to say rugby.

That or Crossfit.

I kid.

For me it’s skilled position in football. Strength, power, agility, speed, explosiveness, cordination, and endurance are all built up at the skilled positions in football.

Man, I could debate you on this all day. But, we can just agree to disagree if you want.

Adrian Peterson and Demarcus Ware hands down and throw in JPP from Giants.

You do realize db’s are just receivers with bad hands, right? I’ll put it to you like this: there have been SEVERAL dudes that couldn’t cut it in basketball that went on to dominate other sports, but no one has ever done the reverse. You’re also the same guy that said Deion Sanders could hold his own against Jordan, and everyone told you how ridiculous you sounded, so there’s that.

It’s a toss up between cross country snowboarding or competitive fly casting.

So zydrunas ilgauskas is a more impressive and well rounded athlete than Adrian Petterson?

Trololol

Wrestling.

Ok, just to make a point. Allen Iverson was pretty dominant in bball…couldn’t cut it in football. LeBron James is pretty dominant in bball…couldn’t cut it in football. Just a couple for ya. I’m kinda kidding but, what I’m saying is just because a player changes his focus in sports doesn’t mean they couldn’t cut it. I do admit, that some TE’s have had some great success in football that came from basketball. Let me put it this way. Lebron is a great athlete and was a good reciever in hs. Why was he a good reciever in hs? The samethings that made him good in football, make him good in basketball.
I admitted that Deon wouldn’t have much success defending against Jordan in the paint posted up. I still believe that he could get some steals from him. Like Jordan could probably get some steals from Shaq when getting posted up. I don’t think that Jordan could cover Deon or keep up with him on the football field. Bball has some good athletes, but it isn’t all that really. Football is a much more complex game, and the skilled positions work on all of the things you listed daily.
