Beast, this is the exact reason why I don’t really do the club thing either. I’ll go to a bar and have some drinks with friends, but I’m not really all about the random seizuring that passes for dancing these days. And I get the same looks for training on vacation. Good work dude.

Outside of training, this is what I have been spending my time doing. Along with studying, that is. The best part about it: nobody knows, and I am the only 'Merican.

One would think that if everyone you meet in a club is jam-packed with drama, you would get a clue and change the situation up. That doesn’t seem to be the case with a lot of folks here. I can only shake my head at these people. I guess they just enjoy it. Here’s a good rule of thumb for the club scene out here: if you are trying to holler at a chick in the club, especially one that is frequented by kids and military, chances are very high that she has slept with more than a few dudes. And chances are even higher that she’s slept with dudes that you know personally. They are already asking me why I am not rolling with them any longer, and where I’ve been hiding. No, no, no.

Today should be a good day. On tap is an afternoon of Tango, followed by a night of Salsa, Merengue, and Bachata. Feels like I’ve found a happy place finally. Something that is strictly mine for now. Felt like a kid on Christmas morning again, as I was watching and learning the Waltz. I only wish I’d pursued this sooner.

I would say that it’s harder for women, as they have to follow. If I’m unsure of what I’m doing, and this is just my opinion as a novice, it’s more difficult for her to follow along with me. If that makes any sense. It does in my head. Regardless, I’m enjoying it. Vienna for the Waltz by the end of summer, and when I feel I’m good enough, Buenos Aires for the Tango. Those are two certainties for me. I wasn’t expecting to learn the Salsa, Merengue, and Bachata, so I’ll probably have to add their original homes to the list, too. I imagine I’ll receive looks similar to the ones I’ve gotten here, so far. Mighty Joe Young actually has a bit of rhythm…go figure.

Been trying to.

Long, long day today. Spent most of it with the head doctor, trying to figure out what route I shall be taking. That was painful, but worthwhile. The funniest part of the ordeal was when I told him what meds I’ve been on and when. He actually cursed out loud and wondered how I was able to even function. But, 4.5 hours is still a long time to sit across from someone, taking tests and answering questions. When the time came to go put in work, I couldn’t wait.

After making a poor decision to nap, I found myself wide awake the other night. So what did I do? Went out with a group of dudes to a club, where I sat at the bar the entire time. Many drinks later, I found myself awakening with a monster headache, but some good laughs from the night. People are funny. The headache wasn’t.
