Stopped in to catch up and WTF, you’ve been through it this past week. Beast, I truly appreciate you for doing what you do. Thanks for your service. Glad to hear that you made it to KAF. I hear that it is pretty ‘nice’ (by over there standards.) I have a patient who’s son is deployed and he was recently there. Apparently it was like vacation for that weary truckin’ soldier. Anyway, have a safe trip back to Germany
First of all I will say this. My job allows/pretty much ensures that I establish long-term relationships with my patients. As such, they come to trust me and talk to me about everything and anything. Over the years, I have had several ex-military/guard members who’ve laid on the table and told me about their experiences. You’re story regarding your team and the issues that you are dealing with is not that uncommon from what I’ve heard. That really sucks. Especially that you bore the brunt and it lead to your breakdown and the drugs and whatnot. FWIW I’ve also got several patients who take Seroquel and the malaise or whatever you want to call it also seems to be common. Hope that the change of venue inspires some other changes in your work situation, whatever they may be… it ALWAYS works out for the best. It just has to, no?
Very nice to see a little GVT action in here. That shit is so crazy. Guess that’s probably what attracts people like you and I to it. Pure insanity, focused on just pushing or pulling and watching the clock. And it is so gratifying when you’re done. Not sure how many weeks I’m doing, my body will keep me posted and let me know if I’m overstepping my limits. Planning anywhere from 4-6 weeks. We’ll see.
Best of luck on all fronts. Can’t wait to hear that you are safe in the arms of one a certain soon-to-be-doctor in Germany.
Here’ some Jeru for you. This song made me think of you for many reasons: the martial arts/violence, the determination, but also the eloquent lyrics. Your thread has definite literary value IMHO. Thanks for being you and sharing that with all of us.
