One side has civillians cheering over mutilated corpses being brought in
The other side puts soldiers on trial for war crimes, uses precision guided air strikes, droos pamphlets and leaves voice messages pertaining to when and where they’ll strike days in advance which is UNPRECEDENTED in times of war
The other side operates out of civillian households, hospitals, schools and refugee camps in complete violation of international law and the rules of law
Such violations actually make these civillian hotspots viable targets under international law.
So yes… I don’t see a moral equivolency.
How many countries designate Hamas, Hezbollah and Palestinian Islamic Jihad as terrorist organisations??
How many countries designate Israel or the IDF as terroristic beyond ignorant western college students who are stupid enough to chant genocidal slogans like “from the river to the sea” and/or radicalised individuals who are part of the alt right, the alt left or part of islamic fundamentalism

The question is why is a Semite a descendant of Shem, but anti-Semitic refers to only Jews. Yes, the Jews are descendants of Shem. But Ishmael is also a descendant of Shem.
Anti-Semitic is not the evolving to a specific meaning. It is a stark, abrupt elimination of the majority of the descendants of Shem.
IMO, it is illogical to ignore the meaning of Semite to fit a particular group of Semites. Anti-Semitic as its meaning stands is just a plain poor choice of words.

The Arabization/Islamification of the region, and beyond, necessitates separate terminology. If someone says something hateful about a Muslim, are you going to verify whether or not he’s a Semite, Egyptian, Berber, Assyrian, Bedouin, Persian, Hamite, etc., before you know whether or not antisemitic would apply?
Also, not all Jews are Semites. Semite is an outdated cultural and ethnic term. I doubt Shem cares one way or the other. Words change. Usage changes. It’s not an attack on the Bible.

Maybe it only matters to me. I am a word purest. Words mean things. I detest the devilution of the English language. I am a student of the Bible. In the Bible words mean very specific things.
I am a huge supporter of the nation of Israel. But I am not a Jew. I am a Christian. But if I were a Jew, I would be gripping all the more. I wouldn’t want there to be a word that described hatred toward me and my people that is so terribly inaccurate.
But most people have no trouble with groups of people hijacking words and claiming a different meaning than they were intended. The fact that it bothers me is my problem.
Sammy Davis Jr sure wasn’t a Semite. So, all the more evidence that anti-Semitic is a grossly imprecise word.
