The Israel War Thread

I’ve been wondering for some time now as to whether the Israel-Palestine conflict might represent the ‘nail in the coffin’ for political correctness.

Young people LOVE rallying in support of the ‘underdog’. But in this case the underdog is quite literally an ISIS style terrorist organisation. I was watching an interrogation that was made public where two members of the IDF are questioning a captured member of Hamas and they say

“What is the difference between you and ISIS?”
“From the videos I was shown right before October 7, we are worse than ISIS.”

Following this the member of Hamas speaks of raiding a Kibbutz and murdering children in cold blood.

Young people… in DROVES… are coming out in support a fundamentalist, Islamic extremist organisation. Organisations like Hamas don’t JUST have a problem with Israel… they have beef with the western world. October 7 showed the world what would happen if Hamas actually had the upper hand.

Young people on college campuses frequently rally in support of stupid bullshit… I’ve seen BDS posters up on the walls of my college campus, I’ve seen Palestinian flags all over the place, and some will feel nasty… or ‘empowered’ enough to rip down posters of those taken hostage.

Organisations like Hamas or ISIS fully intend to stage a jihad (holy war) in the name of ‘Islam’. The western world is now also faced with the growing problem of domestic Islamic extremism. A couple years back a mosque just down the road from where I live was raided for promoting Islamic extremism.

This is not a problem the western world should be dealing with… In Australia we had pro-Palestine protestors chanting “gas the jews” and/or “from the river to the sea”… both genocidal slogans. On the anniversary of Kristallnacht in Jewish neighbourhoods we had groups harassing jews, hurling obscenities and assaulting passersby.

This conflict is bringing out the worst in people on both sides. But many young people have fallen victim to this false narrative of moral equivalency between the IDF and Hamas. How many countries designate the IDF as a terrorist organisation? How many countries designate Al Quassam Brigades as a terrorist organisation?

go onto telegram and look up Al Qassam Brigades… I’d love it if those who rally in support of Hamas took the time out of their day to watch some of the footage Hamas militants took on Oct 7. Not only was the footage (much of it has been taken down) posted online… But members of Hamas BRAGGED about it and said they’d stage an October 7th style attack “again and again” until they reach their overarching goal.

There is no negotiating with an organization like Hamas… They couldn’t even commit to a four-day humanitarian pause/ceasefire.

Imagine if cartels in Mexico raided the USA, took hundreds hostage and staged a massacre where the goal was to indiscriminately rape, murder US citizens and burn down American homes… and on top of that America had to deal with Cartels constantly launching rockets over the Mexican border with civilian targets in mind.

What do you think America would do in response?
America would bomb Mexico back into the stone age until not one member of those responsible was left alive.

In 2005 Gaza was part of Israel… Israel kicked settlers out of their home sand gave Gaza to Palestinians… after which Hamas was voted in and all opposition was murdered. Now Hamas has a stronghold over Gaza and innocent civilians (many of whom voted in Hamas) are caught up in the crossfire. Hamas does NOT care about Palestinians. The leaders of Hamas are billionaires living like fat cats up in Qatar. The Palestinian authority doesn’t care about Palestinians either… Palestinians have come out in protest against their own corrupt government. It is interesting to note Palestinians who manage to obtain Israeli citizenship overwhelmingly tend to drop the radical narratives… I wOnDeR wHy.

In the west bank, the PLA’s martyr find is financially compensating families who have lost relatives to ‘martyrdom’ during the October 7 attack. It’s fucking unbelievable…

I thought antisemitism was on it’s way out… I was wrong…

I will end this by stating I don’t like the Netenyahu administration. The current Israeli Knesset is problematic to say the least.

I do find myself sympathizing with the Palestinians. I think from their perspective, part of their land was taken and many forced out. They simply want their land back. What Israel is doing will only create more terrorism.

There is no difference between the two.

Why do you think that?

They voted Hamas into office and have done NOTHING to remove them. They allow Hamas to not only poison their children’s minds in schools but also allow their kids to be used as human shields. They allow Hamas to divert international aid to make weapons and tunnels.
If you can point to some uprising in the last 17 where the Palestinian people tried to rise up against Hamas, I will gladly admit I may be wrong.

Another well thought out, coherent argument from our resident Nazi.

What should Israel do to get less terrorism?

They left Gaza independent and free for 15 years and all it lead to was a breeding ground for more terrorists an the murder and rape of over a thousand Jews.

What’s your suggestion?

Wrong. They hate white people and consider Jews white. Thus, they hate Jews.

The problem is, it was never their land. There has never been a nation called Palestine run by Palestinians. Palestinians are technically Palestinian Arabs. Prior to the creation of Israel you had Palestinian Jews. Palestinian is therefore a geographic demonym, not an ethnic or racial one. Palestinians call themselves Palestinians in order to give themselves the perception of legitimacy.

I don’t know. The Palestinians view Israel as occupiers of their land and clearly want it back, so might not be much Israel can do but wipe them out completely. Not suggesting they do that.

Sure but this is probably irrelevant to current Palestinians. It comes down to what they believe.

Israel’s claim to the land is also BS in my opinion.

I am guessing Israel will occupy Gaza. They will be the new government. The Palestinians are not viewed by Israel as being able to competently govern themselves, or as a people that won’t be an ongoing risk if allowed to govern themselves. It isn’t a great solution, but it is what I think will happen.

No we cannot.

I see this argument a lot and I don’t think it matters.

For arguments sake lets call the land Israel and avoid the term of Palestine completely.

Pre 1948 Jews, Arabs and Christians lived in Israel ( peacefully) correct?

The ‘Arab Israelis’ who lived in that land and who’s ancestors lived there for generations who were then forced have claim to the land do they not?

I don’t think think most people who identify as Palestinians would have issue living in the land with equal rights, no travel restrictions and no violence regardless of what you call the land.

A lot of Jews who have direct heritage in the land and who are anti Israeli government call themselves this still.

Israel doesn’t appear to be the most caring about human life when it comes to eliminating Hamas so I highly doubt they would have enemy fighters imprisoned instead of just killing them.

Can’t imagine being willing to kill kids or bomb a hospital to kill terrorists while also keeping said terrorists prisoner

Were the people of Gaza able to leave and move freely without Israeli officers stopping them?
Did Israel not go in to ‘mow the fields’ and kill a few hundred people every few years?
Was Gaza ever independent if Israel could just stop their water and electricity at a whim (like they did) ?

There is nothing they can do. They reap what they sow.

What can the people of Gaza do to stop being butchered and having their kids bombed ? Nothing. They reap what they sow.

Unfortunately both sides are fuelling the hate.

The only way this shit ends IMO, and it’s never going to happen, is if you abolish the current radical Israeli government and you abolish Hamas. Have the international community govern the area for a few generations long enough that no one with memories of the brutality the other side inflicted on them is alive.

Only then will things return to Christians, Jews and Arabs living in that land in peace and equally.

Get rid of Hamas and quit attacking Israel. That’s pretty clear cut.

Because that stops people in the West bank being butchered and their kids dying?

Don’t think its as clear cut as ‘Hamas is bad’. The Israeli government and their plans, showed in the UN prior to Oct 7 with a map completely eradicating Palestinian territory , of a bigger state of Israel also plays a factor.

Free movement into another country is antithetical to the concept of an independent country. Israel is not obligated to let Gazans into Israel. If they want an independent country it’s an independent country. Just like we aren’t obligated to let Mexicans in (although we can and should at our discretion).

Israel’s ability to shut off water and electricity is a demonstration of the fact that Gaza was not interested in being an independent state. An independent state would build its own infrastructure. That isn’t on Israel to build.

Got a citation for this?

Here are a few articles about it

100% agree.

But Gaza is not a country it’s a territory . That was made clear when the rights of Gaza’s gas fields was sold off by Israel.

It’s also been clear by the fact that Gaza’s border with Egypt is constantly monitored by Israel and that Israel can stop things ( such as humanitarian aide) coming from Egypt.

Oh 100% agree.

Don’t think anyone is stupid enough to advocate for a 2 state solution ( with agreed borders) and except Israel to build the infrastructure for an actual Palestinian state. If they do they they are morons
