Let me come to Castoli’s defense.
Read Castoli’s sentence closely and note the lack of a comma.
He didn’t write, “I’m dedicated to the fair treatment of human beings, unlike you.”
What he wrote could mean the same as, “I’m dedicated to the fair treatment of human beings who are not like you.”
Isn’t sly how he can say something that can be interpreted in two completely different meanings? Or it could be he made a Freudian slip when he left out the comma. We’ll never know.
