There is a subtle miniature theme in the Quran of (depending on interpretation/translation):
“People of The Door”
“Companions of The Door”
“Owners of the Door”
Most Quran translations will not make any mentions of door and just say something like “those firmly rooted in knowledge”
If there’s anything you could share on this, I would appreciate it
I consider myself to believe in Jesus (as), even though I also consider myself full on Muslim
The Quran calls Jesus (as) The Messiah, although I don’t know what it means
The Quran calls Jesus (as) a Word of God, although I don’t know what it means
The Quran has some strange things mentioned of Jesus (as), the one I best remember is:
Every one of the People of the Book will definitely believe in him before his death.1 And on the Day of Judgment Jesus will be a witness against them.
Footnote - 1
Scholars disagree whether Jews and Christians will come to realize that Jesus is a prophet of Allah at the time of their death or before the death of Jesus after his second coming.
I am really glad to see they put that footnote on that website. The first time I remember reading it in Arabic with a word for word translation, it jumped out at me all of a sudden and I thought of peoples’ reports of near death experiences
And then there is those phrases used by Christians that catches my eye “body of Christ” and “bride of Christ”, they always remind me of this hadith
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “You see the believers as regards their being merciful among themselves and showing love among themselves and being kind, resembling one body, so that, if any part of the body is not well then the whole body shares the sleeplessness (insomnia) and fever with it.”
I would say I do believe in Jesus (as), it seems to me that Islam is a belief system that encourages sacrificing pieces of oneself bit by bit until there seems to be not much left, until one turns around and realizes they were never alone all along, or something like that
Right in the beginning of the Quran, which Muslims are to recite in every cycle of the 5 daily prayers, there is a strange thing, we are to tell and ask God, even if there are no visible humans in the vicinity
You ˹alone˺ we worship and You ˹alone˺ we ask for help.
Guide us along the Straight Path,
So if I remember correctly Jesus (as) says the most important thing is to love God with all of my heart, soul and mind
Next is to do that so much so that I love my neighbor as myself
Great. I don’t claim to have accomplished that yet, but I would like to - even better - I actually plan to. No sarcasm (yet).
But who is my neighbor? Is this one person? The man, the main head of the household of the family in the house right next to mine? His entire family? Is it only that house, or a number of houses near to me? How near? How far? Why? Some hadith comes to mind for some clues, but it might not matter much as I haven’t even accomplished it with just the literal physical one just yet. Please excuse some of the sarcasm in this paragraph - it is not intended as disrespect.
I understand that this is to flow naturally from having followed the first one (loving God) to such a high degree that numbers might not matter
Moving on a bit, skipping a bunch that I don’t know, which I assume is full of gems
Matthew 16:24-26
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
When I first came across it, I couldn’t read anything but Islam into the cross described here for me. Maybe you will give me another way but I don’t particularly recommend going out of your way in trying.
In looking it over again I notice a bit of a double negative which I missed the first time, which could give a pointing to Islam for others as well
The Islamic Testimony of Faith could be translated as:
I bear witness that there are no gods except The One True God, One without partners for Him, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His Slave and Messenger.
Slave being the pinnacle of servanthood to my understanding
It contains a double negative and it contains bearing witness to two things, Witness being the same root word as martyr - to say it truthfully from the heart being akin to death in some strange sense…
I wouldn’t naturally say Death for the sake of Jesus (as), it may be in a functional sense as it relates to becoming a part of that body from the hadith I quoted before re: “body of Christ”
Having said all this, the Quran outright rejects the idea of a son of God, says Jesus wasn’t crucified, was raised up by God instead, we believe he will return.
I have understood that I might be able to be a soldier in his army whether that be metaphorical or otherwise and if I cannot then maybe some of my progeny can. Killing innocents is against Islam. There is no Arabic phrase to my knowledge from Quran or Hadith that translates to “Holy War” - it’s an exaggerated concept
Thank you, I have no concept for “Book of Life”, but I tend to agree - my reading of the Quran leads me to something similar - something along the lines of asking oneself if they’ve done enough good to be worthy of kindness from a God they’ve not been worshipful enough to, even if they meant no disrespect to Him - or something like that
The Jews believe that the Messiah is a future Jewish king from the Davidic line who is anointed by God to rule in the promised kingdom. My guess is that the Muslims believe something similar.
Christians believe that the Word is the second person of the triune Godhead.
John 1:1, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
Notice the definite article “the” and not the indefinite article “a”. This would be a huge difference.
The Bible says that with a little specificity.
John 12:48, “He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.”
Sure Jesus will be there to testify that those were His words. But just remember Jesus represents the Godhead and all spoken by the Godhead. Jesus is also present as evidence that God knows what each of us have been tempted with.
The only two things I can remember having learned of “Messiah” from Islam is that it is a title for Jesus (as), and a title for the “Antichrist” (or Deceiver)
There is “The Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary” and
“The Messiah, the Deceiver”
Just two vague titles for two different people, which may function as exact opposites, rather than just opposing
That’s all I’ve got on that exact word. I don’t even know what Messiah means, but I completely believe it is Jesus (as), as would any knowledgeable Muslim
Yup, I bolded it on purpose to highlight the potential difference. I can’t comprehend what the difference would be, so I can’t say for sure if it is a huge one or not. I would prefer to be careful to not make it any bigger or smaller than it needs to be.
A word of God would seem to be enough to imply confirmation of “before Abraham was, I am”, or something like that (my memory is suspect, no disrespect intended), without negating Gods Oneness
Basically, I do believe in Jesus (as), just not the way most Christians usually do, and I am vague in that belief, without weakness, I think
I don’t know, but since their dispersion after the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple by the Romans in about 70 AD, I would think not many kept track of their line to David.
The problem with the Bible in mind is that there is only one whose title is the Word. The indefinite article “a” in the English language implies there are more than one. From a Biblical perspective that would be heresy.
Jesus is called the Word, because He spoke the creation into existence.
Colossians 1:16, “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell.”
Hebrews 1:2, “Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:”
we also know who imports them over and funds the ngos that fetch them . we also know who starts proxy wars and destroys government’s and nations with the help of their lap dog the USA .
Eu nations are guilty as well. we all are under the heel of the Money Lenders. Disease ------ symptoms
Israel is the enemy of all Western Christian Men, they use the muslims and africans to flood europe and the south Americans into America to destroy the fabric of Western men and Christendom. though they seem to have so many easiloy fooled with their news stations and constant cultural attacks and upheaval of the west.
Deport them all and let them sort it out in the middle east and africa
What about the Israelis who voted for a government who actively kept the Palestinians in an open aired prison for decades? And the same government who are committing a genocide by denying food, water, electricity and medical supplies in Gaza.
Because it all started on Oct. 7th? A very telling point that you pick up on that date.
Who has called for a genocide? What have the Zionists called the Palestinian people?
Because your delusional.
Would this include the jews who attended and even organized some of the cease fire protests?
Another genocide is already ta taken place as we speak. However it is against Palestinians and they-to you- are unworthy victims.
And to stand with Israelis who are-in real time-committing a genocide by denying non-combatants the basics of life. This is noble and just.
And in your case the propaganda runs deep.
Too bad it’s not working as well as it used to on the rest of he world. And now things are starting to turn. Thank God!
Dude, this is complete bullshit. It completely ignores entire volumes of facts, like “We don’t have to cooperate with a band of huns who fire rockets at us”.
Or that if you want to be your own country and do your own thing, then you need to provide for yourselves. Period.
If you can’t do that, then develop alliances that will.
Instead, their alliances consist of Iran who supplies them implements of war which they use to bring about their own destruction.
Your entire narrative is bullshit, and if its acceptance proves anything, it is that the dumbing down of America is working.
I learned that about 18% of Israel’s population are “Palestinians” with full citizenship. Only about half of them who are eligible to vote do so. And with 50% voter turnout, Palestinians manage to get 10 of 120 seats in the Israeli government.
If they really got mobilized, Palestinians could have the 2nd/3rd most seats in the Knesset and be an important political bloc.
