The Grind...

Wait he gets grace on Brittany gaga and Madonna?

Kent that program sounds really good i like the unilateral work something i need to get back too.

As for crazy diets i eat foods.
Clean foods for the most part I refuse to get too crazy wrestling was too much about that

As for support this is the best forum here it’s what we do e-support.

Has no one else declared a love for hip hop !!!

I love hip hop.

I also love Lawrence Welk. Harkens back to a time of false pretenses. It was civilized back then.

Regarding leg drive with bench: I swear that most of the work is done with my legs. I’m always sore in the ass after benching. Never sore in the upper body.

Priceless! [/quote]

=D Happens everyday.

No carbs for that long Kent? How are you so nice?!?! I’ll be biting heads off like a brother does to his sister’s dolls.

Ummmm . . . . so are you saying you’ve had bad experiences with brothers? I don’t think we want to know the details.

^^I’m an only child.

Oh. Well, for the record, I never bit the heads off my sister’s dolls. (Please don’t ask whether I pushed their faces in.)

Well, the world didn’t end on the 21st. I’m glad because if it had it would have interrupted a really excellent refeed day. Highlights included: pancakes, toasted pb and banana sandwiches, fruit salad, chips and salsa, king crab legs, steak, pizza, cupcakes and smores. Yuuuuuuummmmm!

I’m also sick as a dog, no workouts of any kind happening. Fortunately the weather at the cabin is spectacular, and sitting around is the order of the day. Lovin’ the long weekend.

Damn. If I ate like that, the world would definitely end for me.

Damn, that sounds like heaven! Maybe the world really did end…

Sigh…

I’ve been really s##ty about posting lately. Life has been busy, in a good way. I’m helping coach my kids’ soccer 4 nights a week. Work is also stressing me out, but not in a good way. The three guys who work for me are really taxing my brain. It sometimes boggles the mind how people can be very skilled at their jobs and have such profoundly lousy professional instincts and communication skills.

Recent training in point form:

  • My deload week turned into a week off. And I feel no guilt whatsoever.
  • In two weeks I’m gonna wrap up the diet, have a refeed with some good friends I’ve never met (ask me about it later), and taper off for 2 weeks
  • Then I’m going to explore the wonders of carb cycling “a la Shelby”. It’s the next logical step after bulk/cut.
  • I’m going to start another round of 531. It’s time for another strength phase! While I’m never going to be lifting stupid heavy weight like most of y’all, Tony Gentilcore says there’s no excuse why any guy can’t deadlift 400 pounds after a couple years of hevay training. Basically, I want my training to look like a cross between Matty and Todd.

So there you go. I’ve got a plan, I’ve got a goal. Time to re-introduce my nose to the grindstone.

Like the plan, Like the Goal, I think you will be DLing 400 quicker than a couple of years!

Sounds solid.

How lean do you think you’ll be in two weeks?

The diet is officially starting to suck. It’s working, and I’m starting to really notice the changes in shape of my torso. My quads are tightening up too, and not only do I need a belt to wear all of my pants I had to take it in a notch. But I’m pretty much always hungry.

Usually after a refeed I don’t start getting distracted by food until day 10 of 14. This time it hit me around day 4. Since there’s no contest driving me this time, my heart isn’t in it. Next Friday I wrap this up, and I am SO ready.

Todd, I don’t know how lean I’ll be. I suspect I’m at or just below 10% right now. I’ll do the full suite of meaurements next Friday.

Matty, when I do my second run at 531 I’m really hoping I can score some good gains. Everything I’m reading tells me I just don’t measure up for my weight. Whatever, I’m still awesome.

Today’s weight: 181 lb.

Well that’s interesting. So I’m down around 15 lb in the past 5 weeks. There’s six days to go and then I plan to celebrate the end of a successful diet by taking the family out for pizza and ice cream. Then I go on a seven-day business trip where I will once again baffle my co-workers with what I eat… or DO NOT eat.

I CANNOT KEEP UP WITH THIS PLACE!!! I’m getting snowed under trying to keep up to date on everyone’s logs, and I’m not succeeding. Just know I’m thinking of y’all and will post more in your respective places when life lets me. I’ve been MIA for awhile because life is BUSY! So here’s an update

JUST THE FACTS MA’AM
Thursday
Overhead Squats - bar x8, bar x8
Squat - 12x135, 5x225, 12x135, 5x225, 1x265, 1x265
Forward lUnge - 12x65, 12x65, 12x65
A1 Pistols - 4, 4, 4
A2 Reverse Hyperextensions - 15, 15, 12

Friday
A1 Cuban rotation and press - 8x45, 8x55, 8x55
A2 straight arm pushdowns - 8x100, 8x100, 7x100
B1 Military Press - 12x95, 4x135, 10x95, 5x105, 2x145, 1x155
B2 Pullups - 12x0, 6x35, 12x0, 6x35
C1 corner press - 12x25, 12x35, 12x35
C2 corner row - 12x70, 12x80, 12
C3 corner twist - 12x25, 12x25, 12x25

So these last two workouts were really high rep stuff, and it was a KILLER. Especially that damned triple set of corner bar work… 12 reps a side for twists is a big mental grind. I threw in some singles on the big lift just for fun and was kinda depressed how my 1RM has taken a hit. I’m looking forward to targeting this again come summer time.

Saturday
Saturday was a “free” day before I start my next program. I decided I REALLY wanted to do deadlifts. What kind of a masochistic sicko have I become?!?!?!?

Overhead lunge - 8x95, 8x95, 8x95
Deadlift - 8x225, 6x275, 4x295, 8x225, 6x275, 4x295
A1 Swissball leg curls - 15, 15, 15
A2 Hanging leg raises - 7, 7, 7

I just love deadlifting. It felt good to be pulling again after a month of RDLs. My strength on all of the big lifts have taken a bit of a hit on this diet, but I still feel good and strong on deadlifts. That makes a guy feel good, let me tell ya. And I think I love overhead lifts.

Yeah man, slowly the MP’s are becoming a favorite of mine as well, great work bro.

I’m down 11 lb in 11 weeks BUT down major inches. The last 10 days or so I’ve started to notice the number dropping faster as I’m basically doing a CKD now.

Those are decent numbers considering you’ve been dieting. Great work!

I AM SO SNOWED UNDER!!!

Work is nutty. After-work acitivities with the kids are hectic. I may have to formally discipline 2 of the 3 guys who work for me.

I miss this place. I need the love!

Here ya go!

DUDE!!

I hear ya about life. I basically had an entire department start work on Tuesday (14 staff, 2 sup’s) AND I’m moving tomorrow.

I don’t have the kids part but I can only imagine how much more stress that can add.
