"The Game Changers" Plant-Based Nutrition Movie. Thoughts?

Looks like there’s such a thing as being TOO balanced

What about some imbalances man? You sure we aren’t designed to be carnivores? Because the Masai live in a very specific environment (ridiculously hot temperatures, walk 10 miles a day) only beat by the Inuit (ridiculously cold temperatures, tryna catch seal all day, massive TDEE), surely that MUST mean we should eat a lot of steak right? In our comfortable environments where nobody walks more than a half mile a day? Let’s just skip the fact that they consume every single fruit, berry, honey they can find whenever they run into some because, ugh, they’re merely surviving?

Why not be more imbalanced? Why not 3+ grams of calcium a day and 10:1 calcium/magnesium ratio? Why not 50g+ of zinc and a truckload of iron and nearly no copper because nobody eats the liver?

Swear to god telling people to restart their whole dietary approach from scratch and eating something reasonable, from real foods only, is deemed offensive now. Or authoritarian Idk. Unreal.

No. Because “balanced” is subjective and individualistic. That’s all.

Biolayne did a video on the movie that I thought covered a lot of the scientific issue with the film (if anyone’s interested).

Yes, to a point, but in the context of the current state of nutrition and food this is considered balanced or moderate. Carnivore is not balanced.

The science is constantly changing. Accepted dogma is routinely debunked and in flux. Veges and fruits are nothing like they were for our ancestors. I do quite well without them

This was better. After his money grab “reverse dieting” “metabolic damage” BS I don’t listen to Layne.

Layne Norton ?

Yeah.

Same. Anybody still peddling bcaa is a huckster. Dude seems a bit bro sciency too.

Plants have never been in question. Unlike meat.

So don’t eat them then? I agree they’re likely less nutrient dense, but that’s not an argument for not eating them.

Great that you found something that works for you. It’s just not what the majority of people can work with or need. You’re an outlier.

You know broccoli is a human made vege ? Many plants are absolutely in question. @96% of all vegetation on earth is inedible to humans. Never mind it’s not nearly 100% available at all times. Or the inconsistent soil quality. Plants are living things and have defense mechanisms against being consumed. Many of their nutrients are not bioavailable to us.

It’s hard to say im an outlier when the vast majority of people have never tried a meat based diet.

Yup. See exhibit A. What’s your logic here? Humans made it, so it must be bad?

There’s a VERY famous plant defense compound. Many people know about it. They actually try to consume it intentionally. But why would they ever do that? It’s a plant defense mechanism, therefore it’s terrible for us! Actually no, it’s called resveratrol, and it’s been linked to quite a few impressive health benefits, hmmmm.

Calm down, kid. You’re not grasping my points. Maybe im not expressing them clearly. Oh well… Rage on brutha. Seems the vegan loons have much influence over you.

Alright, bud. Your “points” aren’t being grasped because they have no substance. Just personal speculations and anecdotal evidence of n=1. Pretty risky place to be.

A large portion of plants, mainly berries to my knowledge, are theorized to have evolved to BE tasty, because when they get eaten by wild animals the seeds get shit out and thus the plant species continues its existence.

Perfectly logical

It’s a bit counterintuitive, but that defense mechanism is one of the reasons why plants are good for us. The compounds plants produce when exposed to environmental stressors (polyphenols) act as an accelerator pedal for sirtuins, one of the primary mechanisms several longevity scientists (who I follow) believe are linked to aging

David Sinclair eats vegetables. That’s all I need to know.

My thoughts exactly. When in doubt, trust the people who have been doing it their whole lives
