Everyone turns them into an arm movement, then they wonder why they can’t develop any back thickness.
Best thing that happened to me in terms of being able to feel my back do the work was a bout of forearm inflammation years ago. So I tied my hands to an angled pulldown type machine and basically did downward angled “shrugs” without any elbow flexion. When my arm felt better, my back development exploded.
Speaking of Elitefts …Im less than a hour and a half drive from there. Depending on the item I can get stuff almost the next day if I order it early in the morning.
I like it when ppl use common sense. If you’re not working the muscle you’re trying to target effectively, doing the same thing you’re already doing isn’t going to help much. Mind/muscle connection is important, if you can’t feel the muscle working then what are you doing? Amirite?
We all waste valuable oxygen tho. Would rather chill with a person who has a sense of humour than a person with an amazing brain. Sometimes you run into one that’s both witty and funny.
I remember when I was like 20 I use to “row” 315 and thought I was a total badass. It looked more like a monkey humping a football than an actual row and it wasn’t until years later when I found Meadow’s stuff and started rowing in the smith machine with like a 45 on each side that I was like oh that’s what a peak back contraction is supposed to feel like
Back development got significantly better after that for some reason…
I caught a case of forearm tendonitis ~5 years ago when I tried using Fat Gripz to get dem forearm gainz brah. Gawd that was awful. Couldn’t hardly hold a weight until it finally resolved.
I was pleasantly surprised to see there aren’t 500 new threads in CT’s personal forum asking questions about the newest training program he released. By this afternoon, my comment here could be a moot point.
A movement Ive used a lot for hitting my midback for well over a decade worked so well that I started using it with all my competition clients (I’ve seen people I’ve coached put it in their own videos including it a few times! -lol).
I can’t find my old video of the full movement (a full back session), but if you scroll this clip you’ll see at :50 - :56 seconds rowing to the waist on a smith and scapular retractions in a cable station. Both are excellent to really help get that back contraction your “friend” may be missing
Id regularly get them threaded when Im at the barbers, pretty regularly get fake tans and other then the beard, keep body hair at a minimum
My partner likes it and theres nothing wrong with good hygiene
