I fully endorse the notion that in terms of pure weight gain/weight loss, the only thing that matters is the amount of energy you consume.
This leads me to my next confession of going from 210.8 to 152 in 4 months.
Averaging 1400 calories a day. On work days, I consumed a chocolate, an energy drink and an iced coffee. Weekends I allowed for more food.
I am battling with this eating disorder and am at a steady weight now but my motivation to shed the weight off ASAP just goes to prove my point about quantity vs quality.
Sounds just like every other Eddie Hall fanboy lol
That is awesome. My kid loves grabbing dumbbells and doing laps back and forth across the basement where we lift, picking up big rocks and any other feat of strength he can dream up.
Oh shit! Bet that was scary as hell!
How ironic that on the day that I’m discussing tough hands I split my finger open ![]()
This is fair enough than. If my hands were in constant discomfort than I would do something to change it. My hands generally feel pretty good though… Until I bust them open…
Unless its absolutely necessary (welding, using blowtorch/plasma) I can’t wear gloves and have to have my hands on the work. Even then, I’ll only wear a heavy glove on the hand near the heat, and a lighter one on the other.
I’ve gotten some nasty burns though, even through shielded+heavy gloves.
I feel the same way. I dunno if it’s because I need to be able to ‘feel’ what I’m doing or what it is but gloves just don’t do it for me.
Yeah I do this to! Not that I weld much but I usually just have the one heat proof glove and either bare hand or a leather glove on my off hand.
Screw the mma then. You should go learn Hung Ga kungfu lol.
@ChongLordUno Have you watched this yet?^
“eagle grab chicken!”
Lmao that was pretty good. I love how their strikes sound like a screen door slamming.
How very random😂
I went through a Asian cinema phase in the early 2000s. Isn’t the dark haired old dude he same guy from Drunken Master 3?
Haha I figured you might have watched it since you’ve watched Tiger on the Beat. He directed it.
That’s Lau Kar Leung. He’s the elder brother of Gordon Liu(Kill Bill 2, 36 Chambers of Shaolin). Also directed Drunken Master 2 and 3.
Ah of course!
Honestly mate, don’t get me started on this shit!
Have you seen Duel To The Death?
…in a box!
That’s considered a surprise in your house? So sorry my friend.
No I haven’t. I googled it. Is it the one directed by Ching Siu Tong in 1983?
That’s the one. In the top 3, easy.
Day late, I guess. Pussy pad? I always used a Manta Ray. Worse? As for the rest, well, I had my own cage, so yeah, I’m sure I did curls in it. And everything else. No bumper plates, just stall mats on the floor.
Who said what?
Must be asked these days…
I’ve used the bar pad for hip thrusts before. Flame free.
As far as general usage of it goes, lot of folks in the 1st world live a pretty pampered existence. Gym time, sports, & the like remain one of the few things where people can temper themselves to some degree of discomfort. Perhaps the disdain toward the usage of the pads is because they reflect that even in the areas of our lives where we try to reclaim some of our primal discomfort, our society’s inherent softness cannot be so easily escaped.
I believe that, at least in the case of back squats, if you need a pad cause it’s hurts too much. You’re probably not able to squat it anyways. Unless you’ve a really bad sun burn or something, then that’s fine.
