The Flame-Free Confession Thread

seeing how this is the flame free confession thread I can probably get away with posting this, I hope it doesn’t piss Buckeye Girl off too much…

…but when I see a woman like that Julia Malacarne lady my initial reaction is always “GROSS!!!”

then I think about how hard she must’ve worked to get that way, and I respect that, but the initial thought is always about how gross she looks.

I guess as a heterosexual man I struggle not to view a woman posing in a bikini from the perspective of whether or not I think she’s hot (not saying all heterosexual men do that, but I do). It probably shows a lack of maturity or whatever on my part but I just can’t help it. Those female bodybuilders like that just turn my stomach and it taints how I view the sport. I absolutely respect how hard they must work and admire the dedication, but in a sport that is about the aesthetic, I just do not like the aesthetic one bit.

I’m not proud of that, but it’s the way I am unfortunately.

Lol you’re being ridiculously too politically correct. I don’t think you should have to apologize for being male. You know goddamn well every man on earth is thinking in a sexual context when they see a woman with that little clothing. It doesn’t indicate that you lack maturity it indicates that you are male lol. No flame bro  I just hate to see people embarrassed for no reason.
At the beach man, yeah absolutely. But on the bodybuilding stage I’m sure there’s guys who keep their sexual preference from clouding their opinion.

Or maybe they’re just liars…

I do find it irritating that people talk about competitors like they’re just up on stage to be eye candy or look pretty for some spank bank pics. (And yes I realize there are plenty of competitors that do sexy photo shoots, but that’s a slightly different story).

lolwut?

Firstly, I said i would fap over the model jeanmich put up, not yours. I went along with what you wished, that no one would say wether or not they would want to nail the model YOU PUT UP.

Secondly, wtf are people meant to say when pics like that one are linked? I like her collar bones or something? It’s a fucking sexy pic, end of.
Firstly, nothing I wrote was directed at you. I didn’t realize you even said anything about the pic of Malacarne. This was a general statement about how I find it irritating that most people want to talk about sexiness rather than symmetry if a picture of a female competitor on stage is posted. This is supposed to be the flame-free confession thread, no?

Secondly, I saw that he posted LMP and didn’t bother to look to see which pic it was. LMP is a fit glamour model. Not a competitor.

Its context. The comments that are appropriate when someone posts a pic of Larissa “working out” in GAL are not if a pic of her in a line up was posted in a different subforum.

My point is that I don’t really give a shit what you think of the pic I posted. But if all you can say about a competitor is “she has nice tits” save it.

I don’t follow MP, but I just came across a pic of one of the guys competing in the NY Pro (Sadik Hadzovik)…I this is what the typical MP Pro looks like, I have no idea how anyone could argue that there aren’t many quality physiques in that division.

The biggest problem with MP is the presentation: the posing is cheesy and the board shorts hide 1/3 of their physique.
The picture is showing up as the big red T Box so I had to google sadik hadzovic.
Why shy why!!
Soooooo much pubes
Sorry? That’s the only picture I’ve ever seen of him so of course after you said this, I had to google him to see what in the world you were talking about. I thought his physique was impressive in the picture I posted. Some of the stuff google came up with, uh, no thanks.

And speaking of impressive physiques, I can’t think of a woman that has a more perfect physique than Juliana Malacarne. “Flame-free” = NO “Eww. She looks like a man” or “I WOULD/WOULD NOT HIT IT” comments right?
Pretty sure there are guys that wouldnt mind having that physique sans bewbs.
I wouldn’t mind having that physique pressed against me…

lol she’s married though mayne
I prefer ‘‘MIss’’ Laura Michelle Prestin.

^should be in caps
soz, didn’t have time to hit the caps key before typing. was too busy getting prepped to fap!
Well I guess that answers that. I thought I was in SAMA for a second there.

Can’t there be one single fucking place on this site where a female competitor’s physique can be discussed with the same seriousness that the men are?

What a fucking joke.
So that wasn’t directed at me was it? Right.

Back to flame free then and forget all about it

My Confession: I wish I had something to confess besides this

I listen to Justin Timberlake…and I love it…

I hate it when people cough around me. Especially those throaty coughs. I understand you are not coughing on purpose, but my instant reaction “please stop, you’re disturbing me”.

I don’t understand how it’s socially acceptable to blow your nose in front of other people.

I use A LOT of toilet paper every day. Like enough to supply Ethiopia for 10 centuries.

I will rent a shipping container and start saving it for them.

I don’t know how to train my bi’s without getting an insane forearm pump that prevents me from exhausting my bi’s.

I’m also glad that after what feels like a dozen pages, we are back to confessions.

I didn’t appreciate my ex-girlfriend when I was with her. And, now that she is gone, I can’t seem to go a day without missing her. It seems that I got what was coming to me. Just figured I’d throw in a serious confession.

For a flame-free thread, many of you apologize in advance at your posts, fearing you’ll hurt someone’s feelings…

I might have a fix for this: Fat Gripz cable curls with a thumbless grip

you set up just like a normal cable curl, so supinated grip, but the difference is you don’t wrap your thumb around the fat gripz. You are just sort of cupping it. This takes tension out the forearm and gets a really strong contraction in your biceps. Step back a little from the cable as well so there’s tension at the top of the movement.

try it and see what you think, but it worked for me and I had a similar issue

I was gonna say cable curls as well. Not sure about fat grip, haven’t tried that. The worst is cross body hammer curls IMO. My forearms are in intense pain by the end of a set.

Solid advice. This is what worked for me, as well.

I also kept the weight light, the reps higher (warming up with 20 and tapering to 12, or so) and focused on keeping my forearms as relaxed as possible (just supporting the Fat Gripz rather than really holding onto them) while trying to feel/hold the contraction for ~1-2s at the top of the movement. I also found it helpful at the start to “over-supinate” my hand (i.e., trying to keep the thumb a little lower than the pinky), but I don’t really need that anymore. I would also step forward far enough that the positioning would kinda-sorta mimic an incline curl (elbows behind my body, thereabouts), but that’s just what worked for me.

Once you feel the contraction/burn when fully flexed (fucking sweet the first time you really “get” what it feels like), just concentrate on that and focus on pumping it up (for me, this included limited ROM as I fatigued since my forearms would want to take over in the lower portions of the movement).

Once forearm fatigue/effort starts becoming apparent, cut the set or even end the exercise. Otherwise, take it till your biceps burn out. Try to do this as often as possible to really facilitate that MMC. It might make sense for you to do this first in your biceps routine (i.e., before other exercises that would stress or emphasize your forearms), or even doing ONLY this exercise for a spell (allowing you to use more sets) until you really dial in that MMC.

As someone who used to feel curls ONLY in the crook of my elbow, this is what really did it for me. It just takes a little patience.

Opposite. I have to consciously squeeze the hell out of the bar to get my forearms activated at all, and actually feel my biceps BETTER by doing so. Then again there was awhile where I used a thumbless grip for everything, so could be why I can curl without that problem now (good MMC).

You might also cock your forearm down. Think of doing a curl like Spider Man shoots his web, this “deactivates” the forearm and you may feel it more in the Bicep.

Sweet! Cheers for all the follow up lads. I knew hammer curls hit the forearm a bit, and I had also heard that thumbless curls could help too, but I get a weird twinge through my wrist as it puts them in an awkward position.

Ill give the thumbless cable curls a go, as I’ll be able to have my hands on the end of the bar and should make it a tad easier. I’m also thinking some heavy negatives might help me out too?

I’ll give the ‘limp’ wristing curls a shot too.
