Zero gravity epic Dragon Ball Z space fight! Win!
I feel boobs in zero gravity is a very under investigated area.
I thought it was very brave of Benicio del Toro to play his character as mentally retarded. Though considering that entire plotline had no impact on the film besides making some political points it probably fits.
RE: Luke I agree it would have been awesome to see him really kick the fuck out of some cunts a la Vader in Rogue One, but tbf he did project himself across the galaxy and fight someone which is kind of amazing. It’s probably more “Jedi” to have something like that be the display of power rather than pure arse-kicking.
Wasn’t mad on the film overall. Bit of a disjointed mess imo.
The film would have just ended with everyone getting away without that silly plotline. The whole plot of the movie was essentially a chain of screw-ups, each one building up from the last, that culminates in Luke Skywalker becoming an internet troll.
Confession: I communicate entirely too much in GIF form…but damn if it doesn’t crack me up when I find the perfect GIF to send someone mid conversation
4 years ago me and my brother made a video called “how to raise your child”
basically giving our aunt tips on how to raise a child, they where obviously jokes.
Now 4 years later we’ve decided to make “how to raise your child 2”
Im way to excited for this…
You, sir, have won the internet!!!
We do use drills on the eye occasionally…
Nailed it. My first question as I dig a piece of metal out of someone’s eye is, ‘How did it manage to get through your eye protection?’ Cue sheepish look on their part.
A couple years ago I was drilling a pop rivet out above my head. I was wearing safety glasses but a small shard still managed to bounce into my eye. 2 sleepless nights later I decided to go to the doctors. He scratched around but I was eventually referred to the eye section in the hospital. Apparently the rivet piece had already started to rust in my eyeball!
Moral of the story: don’t go to a gp for eye problems.
Are you ophthalmologist or optometrist? Been thinking about going into optics for a while. What was residency like?
Ophthalmologist.
All residencies are hell on earth to a degree, but ophthalmology is definitely one of the lesser hells. Are you a med student?
Ophthalmologist I saw yesterday was 73, and old school -he wore a tie, said I basically just had old(er) people issues, and that he could write me a prescription for glasses if I wanted, but most people like me wound up not using them. Good thing I didn’t just go to an optometrist…
Between that and my recent physical exam results, I wish this were just a “health” site…because then I would be “Strong!!!”, HAH!!!
I remember sharing my story of my corneal abrasion with you in another thread, but I had an equally silly exchange then. I had called in and asked for an emergency appointment, was told to come right in, I arrive, my left eye refuses to open and my right eye is starting to shut down. They have me chilling out in the waiting area, at which point the receptionists notices I’m alone and asks “Sir…how did you get here?”
I told her not to ask questions she doesn’t want the answer to and that my car was the one that was parked sideways in across 3 parking spots.
Not yet. Hop, skip, and a jump away from my undergraduates. Trying to finish up next year, but I can’t rush myself.
Been thinking about just opting for Optometry. I have no idea how I’ll be able to afford med school, and I’m really not in the business of doing anything that involves a loan.
Ha! Yeah, we run into that situation quite a lot. I had a mentor who, when a pt would complain that they couldn’t see well enough to drive, would tell them “In that case, you should drive really fast, so you can get off the road as quickly as possible.” They knew he was kidding. Hopefully.
Sounds like optometry is a good option in your situation. Not sure if you’re US-based, but if you are, there’s lots of employment opportunities for optoms, and they make a really good living.
Yea that’s what I’ll most likely what I’ve been wanting to do. They make six figs. Round about in Texas. I just like the idea of ophthalmology, I ended up changing career paths from psychiatry( although I may go back for a therapy liscense), but I’m doing my best with federal pell grants and so far I’ve been making it fairly well, considering I’ve been staying with my mother. After undergraduates there’s a program specifically for a DO in Optometry, that’s supported by students with federal aid, and its four years, with internship the last two years.
I have to get the notion of money being my main goal out of my head. At first I was just in school for money. Money. Money. Money. But now I see how long schooling takes, and I’d like to still make time for lifting and spending time with my husband, and enjoy my job. Not saying medical doctors don’t enjoy their lives, and aren’t happy, but in The States, they’re probably one of the busiest white collar workers we have.
I wore socks with little Santas all over them to the gym last night. I was really annoyed that no one acknowledged them.
Did you notice anyone else’s socks?
It’s all about how you live. You can have a good life at just about any income level if you know how to manage money. There is no reason to make 6 figures if you’re miserable from it.
My wife and I gross less than $100k combined and there’s a good chance we can retire as millionaires.
It sounds like you have a good head on you since you’re trying to avoid loans for school. The American Dream is wrong. You don’t have to finance all of the shiniest toys to impress people you don’t even know.
