The Flame-Free Confession Thread

I am really letting my hair down tonight and enjoying a nice cup of rosie lee!!! You can take the boy out of London but you can’t take London out of the boy!

Same thought exactly. I live in holland, public transport is amazing here. It’s also cheap.
But since i’ve already had my first couple lessons, i’ll sit it out.

I wouldn’t know how to get laid these days. Having a car, being able to buy more than one drink, being in shape and playing guitar… that was basically 99% of any success I had with females LOL

That’s really sad guys! I love cars! I love driving them to wherever I want and I love to work on them and make them sexier and more powerful. I love my 2 Ute’s more than my own children!

FYI I don’t have children…

I too live in holland but I have to disagree with you on the public transport. It’s literally terrible lol. Even at 12 at night it’s almost impossible to get a seat on the train (weekdays and weekends). When I commuted to London, even in rush hour it was possible to get a seat. In holland, every hour is rush hour. There is simply not enough capacity on the trains within the Randstad.

I live in gelderland, I’ve only had to stand in the train once.
And that was due to a accident… Probably the randstad/gelderland difference.

I used to be mad into motorbikes so I can understand that. Being a car guy is kind of like being into sports in my eyes - I totally get the appeal but it just doesn’t do it for me.

2,000 Euros to get a driver’s license?

Like the same cost as 12 pairs of Air Jordan sneakers? I paid $2,000 for a car! It was a piece .

Yeah that seems pretty insane to me too. In Ireland it was about €400 for 12 lessons and the test, so if you passed first time you’d be paying <€500 for all the lessons, theory test and practical test.

Of course Ireland makes up for it by having an absolute racket of an insurance industry. You’re paying like €3,000+ per year as a new driver and it increases over time.

Ok. In the US big auto companies lobby against public transportation, and emmision standards.

But they must also lobby against hellacious insurance/driver’s ed prices. Thanks, Big Auto Fat Cats!

I’ve only had 3 cars in the last 25 years.

For my own driving, I’ve never paid more that $2500.

Interesting how many “foreigners” we have on the site  (everything is from an American viewpoint, dont you see?)

Driving out here is basically a necessity outside of maybe a handful of cities. If I relied on public transport it would literally add hours to my day, and probably cost more than car ownership in the end.

Ha, that is crazy to me and I have been lucky enough to never have to rely on public transit, but being from a rural community, helping on the farm, being in sports, school, and having siblings, I applied and got my hardship license at like 14 or 14.5 (there were different ages for driving stuff around the farm, but I think 14.5 was as early as I could drive to and from school in town.)

I was a late bloomer on the driving front. Glasgow has reasonable public transport, in the sense that it gets you mostly to where you want to go, so I got away with that for most of my 20s.

However sharing a bus with junkies and other anti social wankers began to get really, really boring. So I got my license at 37 years of age. Total game-changer. In fact so much so that I now fail to acknowledge my existence prior to having a license.

I haven’t hidden the utmost respect I hold for the U tube Fitness community…. (Damn, that lightning bolt almost struck me). There is one guy as of late that is honestly starting to annoy the hell out me whom shall remain nameless. Basically, what bugs me about him now is he keeps dropping key words Like Louie Simmons, Westside and conjugate. In my opinion just to justify the videos he post of himself doing max odd ball lifts. Now. In his defense he does states he has based part of his approach off of what Simmons does. (And since I’m pretty sure he’s never step foot into Westside, he is talking out his ass) Based being the key word since the only principle he seems to use is Max effort but ignores that the exercise selection should have some carry over to a given lift. The guy was getting slack for posting “ego lifts” at first I didn’t share that mentality and I was enjoying the content he was posting to a point. But as he keeps posting partial range of motions lifts and name dropping Simmons (obviously to also add to his credibility), the more I am starting to think that it is ego lifting and pandering to his minions. What’s funny is allot of his minions based on his comment section do not even knows whom Louie is. Which in a way is good for him, since no one’s calling Bullshit.

Its a packet of 40lessons, (Yes the recommended amount here is 40 lessons, I hope to do it less since i get money from the remaining lessons back.)
+an exam. 1800 for the 40 lessons, 222 euro’s for the exam.

The “car” I’m driving right now I paid 150 for. It’s a 94 Corolla, the bottom is rusted out to shit, there’s a crack in the condenser so it sounds like death, but it had less than 200k on it, and it runs so I’m good

I’ve somehow just now found out that Matt Kroc is a chick now. What. The. Fuck.

I know who are talking about, I followed his channel for a little bit before realizing he was mostly full of shit. Frequently references textbooks without providing actual titles/citations.

Yep… hes a mix bag. I just think its funny as hell that he keeps bringing up Louie more and more. Yeah …I wouldn’t be getting advice from the guy in question, regarding Conjugate. Either I would be reading Louie’s stuff or Dave Tates since he was at Westside for 14 years Hell on occasion I lift with a guy whom spent some time at Westside for a few years. So yeah my Bullshit meter is starting to hit max on the guy in question…like I said above none of his fan boys know enough about it to call him out.
