I’m not sure and I don’t care to search and find out lol

It’s part of the deal with the industry. It’s not what I would do but to each their own.

Truth be told, I find beginners tend to be undertrained and overly concerned about form, and these lessons might actually be pretty valuable. I would rather a beginner be training everyday and busting his ass to the point of form deviation than following a 3x5 with zero additional work and never raising the weight because they keep worrying about their form, the latter of which I see far too often these days.
I see this a lot too! They keep doing super slow deadlifts and squats, while trying to look sideways to a mirror to check their form. lol

As for bodybuilders and fitness personalities, fake weights and steroids… well a man has to make a living, I can hardly fault them. People in general, and even a lot of people who frequent forums such as this, are clueless about what it takes to build muscle. That’s hardly unique to lifting though, people are great at making sweeping and utterly retarded statements about stuff they know nothing about, and that goes twice for “strange” subcultures such as bodybuilding. It can be frustrating I guess, but for me I really don’t care any more if people get it. I know they don’t, and never will. haha

I think its simply the anonymity of the internet which allows people to talk shit with no repercussions. I would think that no one that calls them out on the youtubezzz would ever say what they say to their face. If back then there was another faceless medium to talk shit through to people you would never do inter-personally it would have happen then as well.

Chuck Basher or something like that. Don’t search it though…

As for the Planet Fitness commercials, I am afraid that I do not grant them the same degree of significance that you do.
Couldn’t agree more. Beginners today are way too “smart” for their own good.

Too many 165 pound kids worried about “frying their CNS.”

It seems that the latest pop culture act is to follow big guys around and complain/accuse about steroid use.

Viewing videos from CT Fletcher, Kali Muscle or even the Hodge Twins seems to bring with them typical youtube comments that mostly range around call outs, insults and accusations.
The insults and call outs might result from some of these You Tube personalities providing nothing useful, or if they try to, do it in an incoherent, rambling, inarticulate, and THOROUGHLY IRRITATING manner. You might not find these men to provide information in this manner, but others do.

I don’t see accusations with Kali Muscle and CT Fletcher. I see it is accurate judgment in assessing who uses drugs by people with trained eyes and experience.

They have plenty of fans. It’s OK if others aren’t fans.

I don’t see why people aren’t assigning blame where it should…

When the Alzado story broke about steroids, it was Arnolds wife who broke the story.

Arnold has always had the publicity and the stage to speak on this, but he was more interested in other things, like being drug free lol.

You want someone to blame, go to his open and call him out.

I dunno about anyone else but if you follow Kali Muscle. He has this message about positivity, non-drug use and stay the straight and narrow. And if you did mess up well there is still a way out. Well anyone with half a brain can tell he is on gear. You don’t get to his level of competition without it. So people are going to say practice what you preach. Gear is viewed as drugs to the general public. This also makes him look like a big hypocrite. So people specially on youtube are going to hate on him. And he kinda encourages the bashing.

Also he uses his channel and facebook to promote a charity to help spread the Kali message, and books about his life. I can tell you I would never give money to a multiple convicted felon. Specially in the name of ‘charity’.

But he does have some good points on working out. How to break plateaus, and myths about over training. Just like everything on the net look at it with a critical eye.

Then post about it after you call him out.

You just have to look past the “I don’t take steroids” disclaimer because that’s really all it is. It is probably not smart to openly talk about your illegal drug habit on a public forum like the youtubes… Especially if you are and ex-con.

Kali has a positive message and people should look past the drug use issue and focus on what’s really important.

Thanks for following my thread.

I think judging from the mass Chuck carried at the time of that photo, it would be more like in the high 200’s or low 300’s for 8 whole reps. I saw an old video of Chuck when he was around the same size in a park doing chinups (fully clothed that is) and his upper body strength was phenomenal (still is).

Got pics, DB?

You’re welcome. I’ve even got it bookmarked here.

And PICS? Nah, but I do personally know some people who did have PICS

Why d’ya ask?
