Alright, Just how detrimental is this to my workout goals and why?
I LIKE BEER, but philologically speaking can alcohol punish your returns to a degree that a 6 pack on the weekend is a lifters taboo?
Strange question aside, what gives?

Beer drinking reduces your T-levels. That should be enough to discourage you on its own, but add in the empty calories etc…
I enjoy a few beers now and then, but regular drinking of lots of beer is not good.
Think about whats important to you man. No one will tell you that it doesn’t work. Randy Moss smokes a little chief and still scores touchdowns. Who says that a six-pack is gonna stop you from gaining muscle?
As Garrett said, it’s your call. Personally, for me the beer after the workout makes it all worth it. No more than two a day and never enough to get plastered, should keep you in line. Please, please, tell me we are not talking of Corona, if which case you are not allowed to drink any, ever…
Lift weights and do your thing with beer for a while. Then take a look back at your progress.
Now try it all again without the beer.
Now decide if it’s worth it.
(Don’t forget that beer’s bad for you)
For me, and I’m 22, the beer isn’t really a problem. I drink anywhere from 4 - 6 Heinekens a day and more on the weekends. Would I look better if I didn’t drink so much: yes! But I train hard and heavy 4 or 5 days a week, and adding this to an UNREAL metabolism has allowed me to do this without much ill effect.
I also eat pretty clean so it’s not like i totally fuck off. If it’s summer or I just want to slim down a little down than I cut back, but otherwise I enjoy my beer. Anyway, if you like beer, drink it! You only live once so do what the fuck you wanna do!! I also smoke pot daily and by daily I mean 4-5 times daily. Train hard, eat well for the most part, and you can get away with having some vices.
Sorry if I’m offensive, kind of buzzin

I think you forgot something…
Ouch that’s “physiologically” speaking …jees!
Anyway…I get it.
I know some Powerlifters who drink a few beer during their workout and set some state records.
And a 600lbs Deadlift for a 17 year old boy is also pretty impressive i guess.
Seems to be not too bad.
If you feel the effects of your drinking the next morning, you have overdone it. Tempo is the key.
A six pack might stop you from obtaining a six pack.
A few beers is fine, its like anything if it is abused it will abuse you. I like a couple of beers at the end of the day, Tasmainan Boags is a top drop. I feel the relaxation effect is very good for my mental health when I am training hard, nice to be part of the larger society for a small amount of time.

I think lifting is the wrong sport for beer drinkers. I think you should be doing cycling.
I cycled for years. Invariably, every club cycling event I ever went to ended up in a pub or bar somewhere where much beer was consumed. All in the name of carb-loading for the next time, I guess.
Sheesh, you can even buy cycling jerseys with beer logos on them.
RB
As some others have said, just do whatever you want. If you aren’t getting ready for a contest or something, why should you stop living your life?
If you get serious and set some very tough goals then you can adjust as needed.
In college I set a fair number of PR’s on Sunday mornings after nights of heavy drinking cause my head was so cloudy I didn’t think about how heavy the weight felt, I just lifted it. But at the time, I wasn’t really concerned about how I looked at the beach, and it showed.

Whoo…sounds like you are cut from the same cloth as me…except for that Heineken skunky beer crap.
I think it’s funny how some Steroid users here condemn alcohol so harshly…that is an oxymoron if I ever heard one.
Also, I gained close to 40 lbs of lean mass in about 5 months while having a few drinks regularly(Sierra Nevada).
I’m not a professional athelete, so I like to live a little. So what if it affets T? I’m still growing and feeling strong.
Now drinking to excess…that’s another story.
As far as bang for the buck, going for the best buzz with the least alcohol, you might want to try the B^E drink budweiser has come out with. It might not be your thing, but the alcohol, caffiene, ginseng, deal might get you feeling pretty good quicker than a few beers would.
Mmm Beer! Proper beer that is, not your rat piss American stuff It’s all about moderation. Do a google search on the health benefits of beer, you’ll be surprised. I would never sacrifice a cold pint of Stella Artois for anything oh and the German Weiss beer, Guiness, Leffe Belgian Beer, damn making myself thirsty!

Woot Belgian beer !
Try Kriek Lindemans/Bellevue(beer with sour cherries but a sweet taste)or Kwak(heavy stuff).
Or Hoegaarden.
We DO make the best

Ah yes, remember the first time i visited town of Brugge in Belgium and popped into a bar, asked what beer do you recommend to the barman and was shown a beer menu with over 200 beers listed! After about the sixth bottle i can’t remember much else
