Is beer really as lethal to your core tone as it is made out to be? Since i’ve started drinking more beer i have noticed that my tone has gone as a consequence. I know that it doesn’t help ofcourse, but i am also aware that i haven’t been doing as much core as i used to, and the college diet isn’t going to help either. I dont want to give up a nice cold brew especially over Summer i can assure you that. Which leads me onto the second part of my topic. Are all beers as fattening as each other? Or do light beers prove to be less so? Because even though they have a lower alcohol content, surely they will have the same amount of sugars and carbs (if not more) than a regular beer?
Hoorray for core tone
lol… You should go and post this on the Jillian micheals biggest looser forums. Great atmosphere over there!

Core tone? I don’t follow. Hopefully you didn’t just read about that in some article and just came on here to sound smart. You could have just said “I tend to gain fat when I drink beer” instead of “core tone”.
Light beers usually have the same alcohol content as regular strength beers, the difference being lighter beers have less carbs, so you got this all backwards.
Look, unless you’re dieting because you’re overweight or entering a bodybuilding show or a cover model shoot, theres no need to avoid beer, or any alcohol entirely. Just dont drink so much. Limiting yourself to one beer a day wont cause you to become a fat ass. Sitting on the couch and not hitting the gym will.
I really don’t think there’s anything wrong with 3 pints on a Saturday night, or 4, but try to keep the weekdays free of it.
The idea of completely cutting out alcohol is not necessary, I think.
One beer will completely destroy your core tone.
I had one once and my core tone went to shit by the next day.
Body composition goals will go faster without alcohol, no doubt, all depends what your goals and priorities are.
Personally, i can accept some slower than optimal progress at times for a myriad of different reasons (alcohol being one) because theres a lot more to my life than bodybuilding.
Its totally up to you and what you want.
When i do cut out Alcohol, things are a lot easier and faster though.
That’s the best user name on this forum by a long shot
WATP!

Exactly, there seem to be 9-10 topics that come in and out in a revolving fashion.
I had some beers for cinco de mayo after not drinking for a few months the next day my core looked all streched out it was huyyyyg!
If a Glaswegian goes more than a day without a drink his core tone goes back to normal and he stops talking shit into the bargain as well.

Hey! That’s enough of the stereotyping please - didn’t you see Gerard Butler in 300? Oh, and it’s two days actually!
moderation

.
Personally, I feel that the alcohol isn’t what gets me–it’s what I eat while drunk/hungover!

ahh yes. or weakness in the gym the day after
Anyway, beer is considered positively bourgoise in Glasgow. I’ll wager a fried mars bar that he was really talking about that Scottish staple, Buckfast. If you don’t know what “bucky” is, I honestly wouldn’t know where to start…

Totally agree. One heavy night drinking messes up gym performance for the next few days as well as the fact you are more likely to eat crap and not get the proper nutrition you need to suit your goals.
