I don’t believe the statistic. I’m sure it’s true for whichever segment was targeted and responded, but absolutely do not believe it’s indicative of the entire postpubescent - 30 population.
If people are legitimately choosing celibacy, I don’t see it as a problem either. The last two to three generations have been hyper sexual compared to all the generations before them, maybe they’re the outlier. I would also be curious to see the percentage of increase of the alleged 30% over prior generations. There were always people refraining from sex for a variety of reasons.
I definitely don’t see a reason to raise alarm bells. If you want to have sex, do it with someone who also wants to have sex. Like always. Circle back to hookup apps here. Bring the bar/club/event to your phone and go get’em, tiger. Feminism isn’t stopping you. Be the statistic you want to see.
I was a teacher. I probably saw more kids, up close and personal, in a day than you would see in years. One year I had over 130 students. 130 kids I saw every day. The outliers are the “normal” kids these days.
My wife was a teacher up until a few years ago. Her take is completely different.
So which is it, given cross-forum conversation? A deranged new world of sexual perversion leading us down a path to ruin, or a surprisingly asexual and pious up and coming generation satisfied with video games and chastity?
A generation that knows nothing and only gets diplomas and college degrees because of lower standards, grade inflation and an everyone gets a trophy mentality.
Maybe 3-5. She still works in an administrative role. I couldn’t tell you exactly how many schools, but at least three in a major US city. A top 5 for population with extremely diverse inhabitants. One of those schools was incredibly wealthy. Kids drove late model and even new high end Mercedes Benz sedans, BMW, occasional Italian sports cars. Parents would pay $50k per year for their kids to park front row. Disgusting money, and at a public school. The other two were title one, very rough neighborhoods. 1 in a small town quickly becoming an outer suburb of another major city. Lots of broad exposure to varying demographics.
We can tit for tat on who is an expert all day but just because you’re a teacher doesn’t mean you are. If anything you’re somebody who is very comfortable living inside his own headspace and unwilling to look beyond, so I have no doubt we will spend the next 100 posts defending what you want to believe and project. I’m not interested. Sex is still happening. Kids have an accelerated awareness of sex, and are putting it in to practice earlier, as you noted yourself in another thread discussing porn. There have always been weird loners who keep to themselves. Feminism isn’t making kids choose video games over interpersonal interactions. Trends and topical interests change in waves, as always, but people are still fundamentally human and act on human desires and impulses. Ringing alarm bells over the weird contingency is an asinine exercise.
Risk does not exist because failure is not a possibility. Imagine what happens when someone who was never allowed to fail, fails. It creates an inability to handle losing and intense risk aversion.
Women need to up their game. Grow a couple more titties or buttholes or something.
They’re in competion with virtual sex slaves, all of the female game and cartoon characters, and virtual abilities and proclivities that make real women seem kinda meh.
Many of the more prudish posters here, based on messaging across a variety of topics discussing sexuality, are the same people complaining about “dead bedrooms” and exploring strategies to reinvigorate some spice in relationships.
You’re kind of a moron. Name one poster or show a quote where a poster has said anything about meddling or caring how two or more consenting adults have sex. A poster says don’t teach my six year old about anal sex and dildos and you call them a prude. Meanwhile, you will admit that it shouldn’t happen.
