If only you mastered the apostrophe.
If you take me as erudite, I accept that. I’m trying to use words I understand to describe things accurately. I think that’s a good thing. If I overdescribe you can always look up a word. If you underdescribe I’m forced to guess.
I think claiming your opinions as unassailable facts that require no investigation is a weakness in thinking.
Example, a national poll would be exactly how you’d find out about national trends in terminology.
It’s been nice. ![]()
I have a degree in English so that won’t be necessary. Here’s a word you might want to look up: condescension. It’s something people do when they argue with emotions, something you would never do.
I agree, which is why I didn’t do that.
They also work to predict presidential elections. Seriously, look up condescension.
Yup! Feminism hollows out the center. See my post above about the societal utility of monogamous marriage.
In contrast, I get down with this. I appreciate not only the references but the links and photos of actual published thought laying out how you think and the cooperative conversational style. I’m sure we wildly disagree on too much, but I follow your thinking and respect the investment and authenticity that goes into that. The ability to have that perspective on your thoughts gives me the ability to learn a lot from your marriage. Will follow.
Are you a human being?
Thank you!
Have you ever met a man, military or otherwise, that was Not born of a woman?
Their contribution in the form of the men who fight is easily overlooked and understated. For every man that ever died in service to their country, there is a woman that lost her son or sons.
So, yeah, they definitely deserve the right to vote.
That’s a very compelling and eloquent point however, it’s birthing parent, not woman. You’re literally Hitler.
I assume gender & shit all the time. In fact, a lot of people like to make up their own, and I make up my own for them too.
I’m like Hitler with a long history of abusing hallucinogens. ![]()
Skanky green haired chicks = Groot!
Them “I identify as…”
Me "Groot!
".
I think you may have been one of my high school gym teachers.
I thought he was more of a meth guy ![]()
Ewww. I hate that stuff. I did it once by mistake, and it was horrible.
Being extremely sensitive/having bad reactions to pretty much every semi objectionable substance is the one time I am glad for shite genetics.
Hard to get into trouble when you can’t handle stimulants, allergic to alcohol, and get sick from pain meds and cannabis
So my point was not that women should or should not be able to vote, but that this is absolutely a feminist belief.
And that conservatives (who dislike feminists) still have this perspective.
So thank you all for proving my point.
Interesting. Has that changed since our last discussion when it seemed that womens right to vote should be contingent upon whether or not they could be drafted.
I’m not necessarily a feminist, but more simply for equality. If women benefit from being equal, great.
As far as the political movement of feminism though, no, I don’t believe I uphold or support their ideals.
Easy there Hitler boy. It’s equity that’s being sought by Groot, not equality.
Well. She can go eat a di… ![]()
I think an important distinction should be made between simply supporting equal rights and using females as leverage for political gain.
The former is humanity, the latter is feminism.
My opinion hasn’t, but the laws have. Women can be drafted now too, sadly.
Do you believe all men should protect all women, even though the state already does that via court and police?
Even though those very systems disproportionately affect the wellbeing of men?
No. Thats a personal choice.
I’m a very protective person, but if somebody says “mind your own business” or “I can fight my own battles” then who am I to intercede?
Those are after the fact, not active or preventative.
I don’t see that happening. ![]()
I also don’t believe in zero sum rights. There isn’t a fixed quantity wherein a gain for one is a loss for the other.
Unfortunately, it gets framed like that pretty often, because without that frame, both feminists and manospherians lose their grievance.
I become very suspicious and cynical when I see people create scarcity where none exists. You cant comoditize something that isnt limited, and the only reason to try to is to control its distribution.
Think labor, energy resources, etc. Now apply that to equality.
