The Danish Viking: back to 531: Road to 2-3-4 Plates

Squats are unrecognisable compared to last week, so much better.

DL looks like the bar drifts out some. That’ll make your life difficult no matter how hard you brace. Try pulling the bar up your legs and keeping your shoulders behind the bar. That should help.

Thanks Mark that’s what I think too.
DL Yeah I saw that. The first couple of sets I tried hard pulling against the shins, but I missed all my ques at the end…
Well I think it’s improved a bit. Need a shinguard of some kind. And I would have tried barefooted… Well next week.
The first video with 90 kg you’ll see I miss balance backwards after the second rep, as I try to sit a bit more back, and pull it back against the shin, practice I think.

I like grass hockey shin guards. No straps, nice and long and you can fit them under your socks.

Well today I’ll go mental on food.
Going to a Superbowl party, with giant pulled pork burgers, Sirloin burgers, French fries, all kind of accessories, giant cakes filled with Chocolate and Peanut butter, and real butter. Loads of Coca Cola and maybe one or two beers.
Fly Eagles Fly
Probably end up with say 5000 calories or something.
Did I mention Crispy chips and candy.

5000 calories for dinner? Because that’s how I would be rolling.

My wife hates parties now that we have kids. Actually, I don’t think she ever cared for the Super Bowl type of parties. We stay home alone these days but I still treat myself to my favorite “traditions”. #1 is queso!!! I will still make the classic Velveeta and Rotel dip for myself. I’m going to attempt to make baby back ribs as well. I don’t get off until 5 so they won’t be ready for kickoff but it doesn’t really matter.

To do some sort of damage control I’m trying not to eat my lunch at work today. I had my normal breakfast, a shake, a snack, and part of my usual lunch so far. Usually I’m eating my second lunch right now so I’m like a meal and a half ahead. I don’t think it’ll offset the chips and queso but it’s better than just eating everything.

It’s one day every year.
Here in Denmark your football is quite small. But it’s fun to watch and we started a couple of years ago. It’s on the department were I work. To night we’re going to be 17, and it’s great fun.
Was on duty to day. And ate too much
Kickoff is midnight here i DK, so bedtime for us is early morning.
Really hoping for a great game. Last year was amazing.
Is your team in it this year

I don’t really have a team. I try to support the Chiefs because they’re the closest thing we have to a home team in our state. I live in Kansas but the team is actually in Kansas City, Missouri. Kansas City occupies space in two states.

I usually follow players more than teams. I find players who are genuinely good people and I start to follow them. If one of my favorite players isn’t playing then I usually root for the team who hasn’t won in a while. This year I’ll be pulling for the Eagles. Tom Brady and the Patriots have won enough Super Bowls. Let some of the other guys have some fun!

They actually were bruised, so looking for some shin guards of some kind. That’s why the last didn’t came close enough  or at least that’s what I try to tell myself

Yeah Fly Eagles.
I don’t have a team either. OR many many years ago, when i was an able seaman, I was in the states and bought an green cap, with an eagle printet on it.
It followed me many years. I was in a squat with plain clothes, doing all the fun stuff you do in plain clothes on the street. And for 3-4 years that cap was my signature piece of clothing.
It did wear up at the end.
Then I startet watching Football and hey it’s my cap. So Eagles it is. But I like to watch great games and plays. No matter wich team.

Calories yesterday - A LOT

What a great game it was this night.
In Denmark kickoff 0030 in the middle of the night. Finish about 4 o’clock
As you might know chearing for The Eagles and man did Foles fly.
Only downside… missed the pot by a single point had a 10 point win for Eagles and one of the guys had 7. If they just didn’t tried that 2 point conversion.

They felt better too.
I’ll try the squat shoes some more before I decide.
Btw I think my stance was a tiny bit narrow today.

Hey @mortdk , I’m following your logs now! This is actually my first post on T-Nation, registered today. Just wanted to tell you you’re an example of commitment and dedication!

Everyone makes excuses all the time: “My genetics suck”, “I can’t lift I have bad hips”, “I’m too old/fat to do this…”… So what, no one lives in a perfect world where every condition is satisfied (genetics, metabolism, age, time available for training, etc.), and even if you do have a lot going on, some other factor will always count against you.

You could complain you don’t have the same body resources as your younger self, and that’s a fact, this could discourage you.
But it didn’t, you’re following a program and seeing results week after week, I applaud you for that!

I’ll start my training log just after Carnaval (I’m from Brazil). Looking forward to your other updates, nice lifting music btw… Held og lykke, Dansk dynamit!
