The Danish Viking: back to 531: Road to 2-3-4 Plates

The last set where my soul had left me, was actually a fraction easier, maybe the soul weighs 10 kg.

I’ve been debation a bit about my mother should or should I not tell it. I’ve been pretty open up until now, so, here goes. Nothing to do with training or anything, but it’s also a diary.

Mom got through a CT scan and it turns out that she has tumors all over. A big one in the digestive system, a lot of small ones in the liver and the lungs. The Docs are gonna take biopsys of them later today. Not to optimistic, so I’m in a pretty sad place now.

Covid makes things even worse. We got to see mom yesterday for 10 brief minutes, a nurse took her outside so we had a chance to talk a bit.

I’m sitting staring at the phone waiting for it to ring. It’s been just under a year since my dad passed away, and I just feel incredibly vulnerable and sad right now.

I just hope that I can have my mom a little longer, we’ve had some good talks the last half year or so. She was feeling so good at the end of last year and wanted to live to see my kids grow a little older and maybe even to be a great grand mom.

Sorry for putting this shit in here.

I’m sorry mort. The way I see it losing loved ones is never easy no one is ever truly at peace with it. There’s never enough time. All we can do is make the most of what time there is and live life to the max. Do anything and everything you can think of both for your mum for your own sake as well. No ragrets

Ah fuck. Sorry you have to deal with this, and you don’t have to apologize for putting it up here.

Sorry to hear that, Mort. Hopefully the biopsies come back and it’s nothing major.

My wife’s grandpa had colon cancer but the process was slow enough that they barely did anything to treat it. They said he’d die of old age before the cancer got him and they were right. I think he was 89 when he passed.

If the biopsies are bad then hopefully it’s something like that. Either way, I hope you’re able to see her more in person.

That was very sad to read and I’m really sorry for you, my friend. I hope you and your family can get as much time as possible with your mum. Although there really never is enough time to spend with a loved one.

Thanks guys, I’m fine and I’ve settled with it. Mum is 86 turns 87 this summer.
She has had a good life and she isn’t complaining.
They are not done with the tests and examination… but it’s bad and it’s spreading quickly.

Training related deload is always welcome. I’ll take a walk later. I’ll still be lifting weights keeps me a bit sane.

So sorry to hear about your Mom. I can’t imagine how hard it must be to go through all this right now - especially with all the additional stuff going on.

I think that’s smart to keep training. I know it helps me dump negative emotional energy.

So sorry. You’re a good son to always be there for her and this is such a tough situation. Pray, and try to enjoy your memories together. Take a little time for yourself as well.
