The department panicked, there was one guy coming home from a skiing holiday. He didn’t know about the corona stuff until he came to work.
I was standing 2 meters (6 feet?) from him. He was sent home immediately, he was testet positive the or the day after. The chiefs panicked and sent the ones home that had been standing close to him.
Well they wouldn’t revoke the decision so here I am, not complaining, but I hate doing deskwork and making phone calls, doing it from home is just silly.
But I can train a lot.
That makes sense. We’re getting our temperatures taken at the start of our shift. If we have a fever of 100.4 F or higher then we get sent home. If we have a cough, shortness of breath, or other Covid 19 symptoms then we get sent home and contact the doctor immediately. If we know we’ve been exposed to someone with Covid 19 and the above happens then we’re supposed to self quarantine, too.
They’re implementing a “Stay at Home” order effective at midnight tonight. Not quite sure what that means, though.
Has that guy been living under a rock?! What an idiot.
This describes my OHP perfectly… lol
Not really he came from austria it was Italy that was red zone.
The evening before he went home there was reported Covid in Austria as well.
He should have checked, but I don’t even think the sergeants at work new it.
@Frank_C that sounds very intelligent checking for fever before the shifts.
I hope you manage it “over there” I just saw a graph showing a very steep curve.
@ChickenLittle haha ohp is a beast, but I hope I can chip away ever so slowly.
Please be careful and monitor yourself really well for now Mort

Another fine day at the home gym.
Got through the deadlift easy’ish, topset was great. But then 12 rep squat hit me, I was absolutely floored after the last set. I had to take a 5 minute break before I could even attempt the giantset.
Last cycle of 10-12 rep BBB next couple of weeks it’s 8 reps. (still one workout left OHP and bench BBB).
Tomorrow I’m back on the streets, I’m looking forward to that. However I might not go see my old Mom, for a while. On the other hand she is at home and having severe sciatic pain, which leaves her grounded in the house, I’ll just shower in antiseptics before seeing her.
The way I see it you gotta roll the dice here. If your mom needs you to take care of her to an extend there isn’t much you can do. It was/ is the same with my grandma. She could have been infected by us but also by the care service’s nurses or the doctor or the nurses at the senior residence. It’s important to take precautions but in the end, no one is safe and no one can be sure.
Just following along with y’all waiting to get a barbell into the home gym to start making gains again. U feeling the social isolation big fella?
Hey Hamster, year a bit. Went out shopping yesterday met some good friends along the way, had a chat with them. We all are looking forward to meet up again and have some beer and food.
Oh was supposed to go to a 18 year birthday (sons fiance) Easter lunch, a family gathering for a child ending the childhood, a wedding + some other loose appointments.
But I am about to go back to work so gonna see my fellow co workers.
When are you expecting the barbell to arrive? must be hard to just sit and wait for it.
How are u with technology? Can survive on FaceTime for a bit and make up for it with extra work connectedness when this is over.
Yeah barbell should arrive on Mondi according to tracking data. But awkward because I sent it to Bendigo but my parents want me back in Melbourne ASAP in case of lockdown is about 1.5 hrs away. Will wait for Monday and in meantime pack up and rack and shit and load the car.
Terrible with tech stuff, but me and the missus have talked about it could be fun to gather around with some friends and just get totally smashed on beer and whiskey.
Talked to a young dude I trained for soccer years ago, he’s now studying for engineer and the campus his at are on a lockdown to.
He said the youths are making parto online sitting in their rooms drinking, so that’s where I got the idea.
You run home to momma boy, she’ll provide you with food and love.
Is the lockdown so hard you can’t drive to one another? we’re allowed to go out, at least for now.
Aus is at “Level 2” restrictions right now. Movement within the state is discouraged but permitted. We are at a crucial point in the pandemic timeline where things could spiral out of control so am expecting level 3 restrictions and more to come in soon enough to control the spread.
Way ahead of you. We played drinking games via Skype last weekend. Couple of buddys live together and the rest was connected via Skype.
A friend of mine just held my cards in front of the laptop camera and my voice was coming out of a Bluetooth speaker in the middle of the table. I felt very socially accepted for being a robot ![]()

OHP 6 reps some good reps, some bad ones, overall good.
Rest of workout turned out fine.
Was in the patrolcar for the first time in a long time yesterday, had a great day. Difficult to get people to understand that they had to stay a couple of m’s apart. We have a maximum gathering of 10 people and that is what people says, but we are not 10. NO but it’s not the number that’s important, it’s the keep the distance. Fortunately most people understands it.
Next week new cycle with 8 reps on the BBB sets.
Going to increase the weight on the main work on: deadlift and squat those are doing great. OHP I’m going to add 1 kg (have fractional plates), just to see. Bench is still a bitch. Keeping it as is.
Good to see most of you guys are doing good these days. Be careful out there.
Oh I read a good take on the virus, some says it’s not affecting young people, but it isn’t the whole truth, some will be affected even very severely. It’s like a lottery: the older you are, if you have chronically illness then you’ll have more lottery tickets, but we all do have some tickets in life’s lottery.
They’re also not testing everyone here so the stats are wrong. It’s not as deadly as they say in terms of percentage, but that doesn’t really matter. The same number of people will die, but there are tons of unreported minor cases.
They’re not testing us because we don’t have the resources. They’re waiting until people have serious symptoms before they test them. I guess I should just start considering the reported cases as the serious or critical ones.

First deload day, have been using the 7th week protocol before and quite like it, but opted against it, did a bit like @simo74 dropping back to earlier weeks weights.
Using the same weights as the first week, only doing one set of 5 and no amrap. Then only 3 sets of deadlift with the same weight as first cycle
The alternated assistance was only 3 sets but same reps as last week.
Made up the finisher on the go, thought I’d have to do a bit of one leg stuff.
Pretty fast paced workout today, did break a little sweat.
I like it. Good work buddy. Hope you and yours are all ok.
