Woke at 79 kg, I’ll say I stayed under 80 kg, the next couple of weeks will be one big eating feast, and I love it.
The sucking list was just kind of a joke, I didn’t mean anything, I’m still in a good place. The finger is just annoying, I’ll just have to be a bit careful when outside. Lifts and running I’m where I am, I’m chasing to many conflicting goals and I know it, I’m not 25 anymore my main goal is to stay in shape for the rest of my life and enjoy what I’m doing and I am.
@jackolee I’ll wait it out. Maybe as yours did mine will be fine in a few month I hope so . @kckfl349 As said I’m good and trying to push through, thanks for the encouragement. @JMaier31no not really the first couple of weeks my typewriting was a bit off. I can use my firearm and manhandle bad guys so I’m good. @burien_top_team thanks for man, I’m doing that all the time. Hope you’ll get through you autumn and winter well my friend. Enjoy the holidays man.
@TriednTrue it probably did, all my numbers are fine and I’m in no medical danger.
as @MarkKO stated the absolutely would, a year ago I was 11 - 12 kg heavier, so absolutely. I’ve been hanging around my weight for about 6 month now, will stabilise my weight during january. Then I might throw on a kg or 2, but as Mark has figured I like to stay kind of lean. @dagill2 thanks man. I’m good and positive as always and looking forward to try something new.
@simo74 thanks for the kind words Rob.
The template 1000% awesome calls for that setup. I like doing the lifts more than once per week.
It can be laid out with a 5x10 BBB as well.
I’ll be doing rows, pull ups, bulgarians, front squat, dips push ups, incline db bench and core work.
Glad to hear that you are doing fine. Well apart from the finger but you’ll figure it out.
How is badminton going? A sorta ‘play sport’ (direct German translation here, haha) might be a fun mix up and helps to stay in shape. I have been enjoying tennis in addition to all the heavy lifting.
Badminton is fun and I enjoy it a lot. I’m not as fast and explosive as I used to be… not that I ever have been that haha.
I love it everytime we’re playing.
Merry christmas to everybody.
Woke at 78,6 kg still holding it under 80 kg.
Saturday I ran 3,9 km in 20 minutes (close to the 5 min/km pace)
yesterday badminton for 90 minutes, had a fun day lost 2 sets won the next 2, I’ll call it a draw.
Decided I wont be doing another 1RM test.
Gonna start 1000% awesome template today.
Goal for 2020 stay healthy and I’ll start running more frequently, if this means I wont get bigger or stronger, so be it. I’ll still lift consistently 3 days a week, some weeks maybe more.
I’ll lift as I feel prepared to, If the BB feels smooth I’ll go hard, if it feels heavy and slow I’ll hold back a bit and leave a couple of reps in the tank.
I’ll see if I can tweak the template (of course I will) for the 5x5 for squat and bench I’ll have a starting weight, keep it but ad reps every week until I get to 5x8 then I’ll increase weight and start over.
Looking forward to this and I’m ready to tweak after a few weeks to stay under 1 hour in the gym.
Thanks guys you’re the best.
We had a great Christmas eve with duck roast and pork roast, danish way to celebrate christmas. Was surrounded by our loved ones. Really a nice evening. We get presents at christmas eve, Christmas day is another day of good eating.
I was at work during the evening and night, lots os morons in the street so had a lot to see to.
Training and weight wise still under 79 kg’s so I’m pretty pleased with that.
Started the new program tuesday and wednesday
Tuesday
Squat worked up to a top set 9 x 87,5 kg
SS hanging leg raise 5 x 9
Bench 5x5 65 kg SS BB row 5 x 8 60 kg
Finished with a circuit of 3 sets of dip, wendler row, EZ curl.
Wednesday
Deadlift topset of 10 x 115 kg
OHP topset of 8 x 42,5 kg + 8 x 32,5 kg
SS pull ups 5 x 5
Circuit of 3 sets of incl DB bench, one arm row, front squat.
Finished with pushup 3 x 10
Both days about 45 minutes + 10 minutes warmup.
Both days felt a bit to the heavy side, but it’ll pass and I’m sure this is the right way for the moment.
Wow, that sounds like an awesome combo. We typically have duck for Thanksgiving in November and pork roast for Christmas dinner. I can’t even begin to imagine the ecstasy of having both in one night!
Weight is getting around 79 kg rather than around 78 kg.
Today we have friends over for beer and a lot of it.
24 exactly. Special beers all in 0.5 or 0.75 L bottles we’re going to share one bottle of each then we’re going to rate them in the end.
I can see hangovers tomorrow.
Yesterdays training
before noon
squat 5x5@82,5 kg SS ab wheel 5x10
Bench topset of 67,5 kg x 11 SS BB underhand row 5x5
DB standing press SS bulgarians 3 sets
Curls SS triceps 3 sets
Oh boy I’m still around it’s become january fifth and I’m still training.
BW is around 79 kg and I’m going to drop a few kg during the next couple of weeks. Going to see sub 78 kg regularly and going to stay there.
Have completed week 2 of 1000% Awesome and have tweaked it just a tiny bit.
Doing squat and bench twice a week monday and friday.
DL and OHP wednesday.
Monday squat 531 progression with a top PR set and bench 5 x 5 of 80% Friday bench 531 squat 5x5.
Wednesday just 531 progression of DL and OHP.
Then I’ll do a circuit of assistance. trying to keep my sessions to 45 minutes + warm up, trying to keep that under 10 minutes.
Ran 20 minutes the other day. I’m going to run for 20 minutes once or twice a week maybe one day would be shorter but faster.
Badminton is in the mix as well.
So for the time being I’m not really pursuing anything but trying to be in a somewhat good shape.
New year and really not a specific goal, was a bit disappointed that I wasn’t as strong as I thought I’d be.
Will try to log my workouts.
Yesterday:
Squat 3x6+2x5@82,5 kg SS ab wheel
Bench 9 reps 72,5 kg SS underhand grip BB row
assistance DB press SS bulgarians.
I don’t know, I think you’re doing pretty good mortdk.
I went to the gym with some friends over the holidays (in their mid 20’s) and it would appear you can out squat them all lol
I think T-nation raises the bar pretty high for these things.
Talking for myself here, but I find it easy to forget that all the halfway impressive things I’ve ever achieved physically have been the results of many years of consistent hard work. I’m 1.5 years into this process so probably another year and a half at least before I can expect anything impressive.
We also tend to measure a small handful of things while ignoring the variables. If we saw our own circumstance from the outside looking in, and looked at it like a research study, then we’d probably yell at ourselves.
We tend to let the variables change a lot so in the end we’re not comparing results from the same environments.
