I think he stuffed pineapples inside his arms.

Does it matter? It’s just a number.

it matters… cause “here” a lot of stuff is “just matter of numbers”… our weight, how much we can lift, how fat we are, how big are our muscle…

and… also 11" is a number… do you want 11" arms?

Let’s see 1) Some videos of you curling and 2) You do the same thing that he did.

why?
If you look at his video you can see that it is not a concentration curl. And some reps aren’t a curl movement either (look at the elbow joint)

  1. hmmm, i dont have to prove myself over the net, I’m not insecure I know what I can do, same with my friends and my family, and that’s all that matters.

  2. If I were to do what he did I would be officiallly a certified jack ass, i don’t want to be a certified jack ass. Argue all you want those were NOT curls. They were sitting hyperextensions.

Translation: I know I am a pussy who couldn’t do what the guy did in the video.

It’s very funny how these e-warriors appear out of no where, you are probably the guy in the video. Whether you are or are not doesn’t make a difference, but the guy in the video is a fucking moron and so are you. Take your fucking insecurities else where. As I said I have nothing to prove to you or others. Nowhere did i claim to be hercules and there is no way in hell that Im going to curl like that jack ass. I’d be surprised if he could do five strict concentration curls with 60 pounds.

Your the pussy starting up over the net not I. Fuck Off.

Can’t let such a good thread die. I’m starting to like the hammer strength curl. I’ve done em for years but now I’m really starting to thing this is an effective piece of equipment. I like the constant tension and I think its improving my shape too.

I’ve been doing reverse curls starting with 100 lbs, no warm up but I don’t go all out but come close. For some reason I just don’t feel like I need a warm up with biceps all the time. There not big muscles and working them doesn’t seem to tax the CNS like bigger lifts.

Don’t count the reps, but each w/o it seems like I’m able to use better form. Like slower negatives, keeping my elbows in, and less cheating. I tried 110 today and that felt heavy. I got like 3 or 4 reps but I gotta keep pushing the weight up. Next week I might get 5 and so on.

After that I did two sets of preacher curls and 1 set of the hammer strength curl.

I work em with chest and tri’s and I used to with back but my last few back w/o I left out curls and I’ve gained a little more in my bis. So I’m stick’n to curls one a week for a while.

that stupid little crazy routine i was posting didn’t work at all and left me with aching biceps and basically no progress. I’ve realized it’s better to train smart, and simple.

Decided I would stick to the basics, heavy barbell curls, dumbell curls, hammer curls, and concentration curls. I think those exercises cover a well rounded bicep program.

I train arms with back and legs. I’m obsessed with size and strength and want the biggest, strongest, baddest biceps around like most other people. The goal is to wall curl 185, and sport a pair of 18.5 inch guns before I’m 19 which is in about a year and 7 months, so I got some good time. Currently the arms are measureing a bit over 16 inches and I can wall curl about 140ish maybe a little more, so I should blow through my goals hopefully soon.

I like training biceps with fairly low reps 2-6, except for concentration curls. I was wondering if you guys did the same, or do you like a higher rep protocol?

My biceps were totally stagnant for a long time training them heavy, for me it took a bump up in the rep range to get them growing for once. Used to be 6-8s mostly, now 10-15s. New stretch marks help support my theory haha.

Since I did it today and it’s worth sharing… does anyone else here do drag curls the way Vince Gironda(and now CT sometimes) taught them? Straight bar dragging the bar up the abdomen/chest and dragging back down. Minimizes front delt help or any swinging and you can really grind them out because there is no sticking point.

Higher rep range and strict form do the trick for me… and i dont know if it is just me but biceps training in higher reps is painfull.

I get the best results somewhere between 6-10 reps. I’ll pick a weight that I can do six reps with, work that up to ten then increase the weight. So guys do well with 20 rep sets but not me.

All that heavy lifting, under 4 reps will tax your joints and tendons. There’s also an increased risk of injury. Its cool to do but not often.

Never could get into preachers…they put too much stress on my elbows.

So my fav is hammer dumbell curls.

2nd is gasp cable curls w/curl bar attachment. There…I said it.

ya, i kinda realized that after i hurt my elbow. although it was while benching i think it started from curls, specifically preacher curls. if you’re using heavy poundages on preachers, the negative portion of the lift is unforgiving if your arms give out and your elbow fully extends against the padding with a snap. i just can’t get enough of the heavy weight, plain and simple i love it. with that being said i’ll probably only lift low reps once per week and do 6-10reps in the other session

I never fully extend with preacher curls. I think it puts you at a greater risk of injury.

I know how you feel about the heavy weight. Its fun alright but it isn’t conducive to my goals. I’ll get satisfaction doing X amount of weight for six reps and seeing if I can get 7 the next time.

Just going to keep some record here…

Now
Arms 16inches
Curl 140
Bench 330

Short Goals
Arms 18-19in
Curl 185+
Bench 405

Long Goals
Arms 22-24in
Curl 315+
Bench 700+ Raw

These are goals pretaining to arm size. I have many other goals regarding weightlifting that involve back and legs, but don’t mistake me for a curl bench kind of guy, although I love to do em.

I don’t ever want to burst someones bubble, but you said in another thread you want to attain your goals natural, and while your short(I don’t think they are that short term) goals are certainly attainable the long term ones are out of this world. I just don’t want you down on yourself if you are 5 years down the road walking around with lean 19 inch arms and you can’t get 22s.
