Ya that’s the rink, I’m pretty sure they fixed the place up, but it was after my time, they closed it down and did a big reno, I hear it turned out well, but I haven’t been back

Hm, I haven’t been there since 2005. Was the reno before or after that?

Maybe it wasn’t that great of a reno haha. That would have been right after because the last time I was there would have been 2003 and it was the next season they supposedly fixed it up.

Oh damn, ahaha. The dressing rooms sucked ass as far as I remember. For a place where Jr.A teams played out of, you couldn’t fit the visiting teams in. We were always cramped, even though we had two rooms.

It’s just easy for me to go to the gym there because Im there for 6 hours a day. It’s not too bad. white oaks in oakville? and the Y in welland? jesus stop following me…
White oaks in Niagara on the lake and how do I know youre not following me? I can see how the zone would be convenient for a student for sure.

I currently live in Alberta, Edmonton to be exact. I’m glad the inflation bubble burst, now I can finally afford a home when I graduate. :stuck_out_tongue:

I haven’t been over to the new gym area, but I hear it’s very nice.
My wife may not like the 3 hot blondes ratio.

You other Ottawa folks, where do you guys workout?

I used to go to Algoinquin’s gym, but it’s frustrating how packed it gets.

Any good West end gym recommendations?
I work out at algonquin from time to time, but mostly go to either the YMCA on merivale rd. or the Goodlife Fitness in merivale.

The Y has 2 squat racks and 1 power cage, plenty of benches and has some pretty hardcore PL’ers and BBs there. The Goodlife gym has 2 Squat racks, no power cages but has a lot of equipment. Not hardcore but plenty of equipment, chalk allowed, never seen anyone get warned about dropping weights.

Hit up a PM sometime, we’ll do a leg day sometime.

I’m from Mississauga. Would kill for a decent gym around here. All the Premier are shit. 1 squat rack, no power rack and DBs only up to 100lbs =/

Toronto suburbs = win

Define “Toronto suburbs”. That could put you in some pretty horrible places yourself

Not horrible, just boring. I live in Thornhill, work in Missisauga.
I’m Just up the road in Richmond Hill. I agree, there’s next to nothing to do around here

I worked out at Algonquin for almost a year, it’s not bad when you figure out the right times to go, and ask the front desk to change the shitty music.

Now I’m up in Petawawa, the gym on base is pretty nice, dumbells up to 140 or 150.
