Nice to hear that you’re still managing to stay active, and stay positive! Injuries can be really frustrating, but it sounds like you’re being patient and doing all the right things to get you recovered asap.
Here’s hoping the next two weeks fly by, & that you’re feeling great in time for your return to the field!
Thanks for checking in bear, kimaba, blue - means the world to me.
Print, you wait in the car while I stuff my sweatpants full of all the hostess’ I can handle.
So here’s where I’m at. Hammie is feeling MUCH better. I’ve gotten into the gym this past week and tested that sucker out - did some light lifting, squats, hypers, DLs, as well as upper and all seemed to fare quite well. Yesterday I also did some agility work and was able to get pretty explosive (coming out of hurdles on an 80% sprint - freaking sweet!).
The only problem is during my workouts I get super fatigued - and like I said, I’m not even using heavy weights. Not sure what that’s about, so we’ll have to see as I get back into the regular regime.
More exciting news, saw my ART guy last night and he assessed I was 80-90% good. Yay!
Tonight there’s practice (assuming the field ain’t flooded), so again, I’ll be testing that business out. Might even play live for a few minutes. Assuming all goes well, I’ll be ready to play next weekend.
Thinking of starting back into regular training by the end of this week. I was only into 2 weeks of my new program, so I’m going to start from scratch. Haha - good times - 2 steps forward, 1 step back.
And I would just like to add that although practice got canceled tonight I decided to go to sports conditioning. Half hour through the class I started feeling fatigued so I decided to call it a night - thanked the trainer, foam rolled, stretched and then bounced.
I’ll take that fondle thank you! As well as the foam rolling doggy. And thanks everyone!
I’m also happy to announce that Maschy is getting her groove back. Started up the program again last night. Bench day.
Bench - 5x 70, 75, 80, 85, 90 < realized I messed up on the weight numbers, but evs. 90 felt GOOD, did have a spot (Victor, cuz I’m still being a shy guy), but was able to get it up on my own. Not sure I’m comfortable moving up in weight yet.
Chins - 7, 4, 4, 4, 2
DB Rows - 2x12x30, 10x35, 8x35 < These were much harder than I remember!! Went down in reps from the last time.
Pullaparts - 2x15 < didn’t do all four sets because this is when I got distracted by Julio teaching me how to do drop sets with the DB Rows - why did no one tell me about the awesomseness of drop sets! slams fist on table
Then did 2x:
Squats w/ 20 lb ball - 20
Jump lunges w/ 10lb plate (see Bobbi?) - 10 ea side
Side plank with leg raises - 10 ea side
Weighted plank w/ 10 lb plat - 60 secs
Still a bit nervous about the hammie so I didn’t want to over do it - I had that bitch bio-freezed and wrapped, but still. Anyways, what I’m most happy about is that I didn’t get super fatigued mid workout.
Hey Maschey, glad you were able to “get it up on your own” LOL just trying to beat Print to the punch on that one haha
Yeah, but seriously, nice work, and I see your optimism returning!!! Awesome.
How did your squats go?? I’m curious to see if your hammies cooperated on those… crossing my fingers that they did
