Tonight sports conditioning. I felt great. Had lots of stamina and I swear I’m jumping higher. I wish I were faster on the suicides, I really want to catch up with the boys.
After class I did some neutral grip pullups 3x3 - now I kind of jacked up the front of my shoulder. I should know when to say when - but I was feeling real energetic.
On my way out, one of the managers gave me a gift certificate for a free 1/2 hour facial! Yay! He’s promoting his friends spa in the hood and said that I deserve it. Isn’t that sweet?

Life has been a bit stressful for Masch and yesterday i skipped the gym. Was also starting feel a bit sick, but i didn’t want to miss tonight’s training.
Today was DL day. Did full warm-up minus the split squats. Was supposed to do 3x12x25, but i just did 1 set of 8@ BW. There were a lot people in the weight room (including my ex slide - we get along great and he even gave me a tip ‘breath, when you get to the top’ lol! but i just found out he has a gf. He’s the best though and I wish him well. What a stud).
Anywho, I don’t know what happened but I messed up my weights on the Squat and Dl - so they’re a bit wonky.
Squat - 1x5x75,95,100,110, 120
DL - 1x5x115, 125, 135, 155, 155 < did 155 twice. douche. But they felt good so that’s cool.
Pull throughs - 4x12x40,42.5, 45, 47.5 < the weight just kept coming - so why not?
Hanging leg raises 4x12xBW < these are so hard!! By 7 my form is starting to go, by 12 my knees are bent and I can barely get parallel.
And that was it, stretch foam rolled and bounced.
ps. I did get snappy with the lady who I was telling you about last time - Maureen. I told her she could work in with me, but forgot that she had to rerack the whole thing. And i was like ‘oh, youre going to do that? well, make it quick’ fucking bitch i am. I apologized to her afterward and she said, 'well you are a shorty" lol!

not to worry about missing a day when life gets stressful. (maybe i’m trying to justify taking tonight off!) but seriously, school, work, life, it all adds up and sometimes you need a night away from the iron. and especially if you think you are getting sick!

to add to ksnap’s tips if you are or can squat in a cage- they are like scarce in NYC wtf…
I always set the pins, hooks ect so I can face away from the mirror,
its cool to check yourself out- but not while squatting- sometimes people will lean where they are looking

Mascherano, I don’t know if this had already been addressed, but you mention doing YTWL’s with 10lbs, Is that 10lb dumbells, because if so, that is almost definitely too heavy. Most people would be using at most 2/3 the weight they use on strict lateral raises for YTWL’s so I would think you should be using at absolute most, 5lb dbells.

I usually only take 1-2 rest days, Sunday being THE day of rest. But I’ve already skipped weds, and with tonight, that makes two - so I may just end up gyming it on Sunday. We shall see. I’m totally stubborn. I’m glad you get me.

I think I’ve asked this before, but does anyone know about the bent over lat raises - are these also an exercise that requires less weight like the YTWLs? Or can I attempt going heavy? I’m incredibly weak on these, in case you haven’t noticed.

there is a decent one in bensonhurst in a basement.

you can do rear delt raises while laying face down on an incline bench
try loading them that way
face pulls google it up they are great for rear delt and shoulder stability.
