How can you NOT think that its flat out impossible for most kids to get that big without steroids by 19?
Do you really expect us to answer nonsense like that?
Btw, his arms lag behind his torso big time…
He may be on assistance, of course, but imo it’s not a requirement for that… He’s in his prime anabolic years, is very likely busting his ass and making strength gains for reps, eating 2 kids every meal…

Are you trying to say that it’s totally possible for MOST kids to get that big without steroids? Are you insane or merely stupid? I’m not saying he did or did not take steroids. I’m only saying MOST kids can’t get that big by age 19 without them.

Because it is.
WTF does that even mean? It is impossible? It is possible? You think it’s not impossible for most kids because it is impossible?
Stop using double negatives, that might make it a little less likely that people will misinterpret what you are saying.

Ro. I keep forgetting that Tnation is at a 3rd grade reading level.
Forget about reading level, it’s about making your point clear to the largest number of readers.
You could have just said,
“How can you think that it’s possible for most kids to get that big without steroids by 19?”
or
“It is flat out impossible for most kids to get that big without steroids by 19, how can you think otherwise?”
Both of those say the same thing, but don’t use a double negative (which clearly some people wondering what you meant).

100% agree. 19 year olds would be lucky if they can bench into the 300’s with a few years of proper training.
You can’t say other people don’t ‘bust their ass’. It is actually quite easy to find the determination to train like an animal and eat like one. It’s even more easy to do that if you see incredible gains.
The fact is, most teenagers won’t see anything near that, not until they are least 22+, and some people won’t even be able to bench 450+ during their whole training career.

Correction…MOST people. I can’t even remember the last time I saw someone put 405lbs on a bench press. I rarely see most even use 3 plates a side on a Hammer Strength machine.
There at least use to be 4 or 5 people in most gyms who could do this just 10 years ago. I doubt there are more than 1 or 2 today.

I will say that I personally see more well developed blacks than I see of most other races. Whether you can blame that on socio-economic factors or simply genetics, I know I am not alone in that observation.
Houston is a pretty big city. There are all shapes and size here. However, the average basketball court in this city will house some fairly impressive musculature that I don’t see elsewhere…and I have been quite a few places.
I am not sure why this would bother some people.

Professor X, why do you think you see more well developed blacks than other races? I’m just interested if you have a theory on this subject. I notice this as well but I don’t know if I can point it to socioeconomic conditions, race-based genetics, both, or something else.
I know this is a touchy subject for a lot of people but it’s pretty accepted in the scientific community that depending on where a race of people have lived in the world will eventually adapt to their environment over a number of centuries; we’re talking strictly about physical differences only. Take hot, sunny weather climates…eventually (over centuries) a races’ skin color does darken to protect against sun damage.
It’s such a touchy subject because it’s too easy to take subtle perceptible differences between races and label them as flaws or one race is better than another, etc.

Basically, it seems to be related to socio-economic factors as well as genetics. Trying to pin point the reason beyond that is a waste of time and energy. I just know what I see and frankly, I am amazed that anyone is claiming they have never noticed anything like this. The majority of my friends (the Black ones) who don’t even lift regularly are carrying more lean body mass than most of the people on this site. Regardless what we blame that on, it is still fact.
It’s a touchy subject because during the era of the slave trade and for generations afterwards, there was an attempt to claim that blacks from Africa were more developed physically so this simply had to mean that they came up short mentally.
It was a defense mechanism. Nothing would have scared those people back then more than the belief that those people were not only stronger but also intelligent. It would make them feel less than…and we can’t have that, can we?
This extends to today which is why so many avoid the stereotype in public.
My opinion isn’t based on politics. It is based on what I see in majority and what I see are far more black Americans who are carrying more muscle than most other racial groups in this country.
It is no different to me than noticing that Asians seem to have better calf development than most other races. To deny that is just retarded.
I think the topic is generally avoided because it’s a slippery slope to talking about racial superiority, to eugenics, ect. Not that anyone is arguing that here, but that’s what it often leads to. I even read a recent study about genetic predisposition for intelligence between races.
Whether it’s true or not, I don’t particularly care to know because I can’t think of anything positive to come out of it. I don’t care what my racial predisposition is for things, it’s not going to affect the way I train or the goals I’ll strive for.

I agree with that mentality. The observations that blacks, on average, seem to have more lean body mass does NOTHING for me personally. I still had to put years into this to gain a large amount of muscle mass and it still took more dedication than most.
As evidenced by some of my past posts (not many), I am very interested in the physiques of athletes, football players in general. Somebody that really amazes me is Vernon Gholston.
Although bodybuilders definetly have different methods of achieving size, and powerlifters definetly have their own ways of achieving strength, I think it is amazing how some of these athletes have absolutely awesome physiques with the strength to back it. These guys are what I strive to look like.
Although it definetly has to do with genetics and the access they have to different tools/coaches/nutritionists, I think it really boils down to the hard work done on a day-to-day basis.

Most all football players train using full body training sessions on machines.

whatever, asians are definately the smartest, at least at math.
theres a differance between being proficient at something through hard work which can be taught as a character trait, but most these fuckers are flat out gifted with math. maybe theres a link between the characters of most asian languages and the brains function with math.
