The Akuma01 Thread

Your front delts really seemed like a strong bodypart for you in that first year college pic.Did you increase your volume of pressing that you were doing around that time?Actually I remember some impressive pressing numbers that were posted somewhere. My pressing sucks big time.My levers dont help but do you have any tips that helped you increase you bench and shoulder strength?[/quote]

Heres a different pic i took at the time to give you an idea of my front delt. It was honestly my biggest deltoid at the time, as i did very minimal focus on my rear head, and little focus on my lateral head. Im very happy to say that i changed that. My lateral head is much larger, as i always throw in 2 focused lateral movements along with my major compound movement for delt day, and my rear almost matches my front.

So a word to the Wise- Dont be a Noob. When it comes to Delts, Your side head needs the most work, and your rear has to balance your front.

Akuma you’re an inspiration man. Not only because you are one big/strong mofo, but your drive to be the best is incredible. Here’s a couple more questions if you could answer them.

What weight do you think you are going to come in at in your bb competetion?
Do you do any type of cardio atm?
What’s your major in college? (cause you seem very intelligent)

Thanks again for answering all the questions so far. You’ve been keeping the bodybuilding forum alive for the past couple months.

Well im hovering around 255 right now, after coming from that off week that i kept carb cycling through. Im guessing im around 18% bf atm, so assuming i properly cut, im thinking i can drop maybe 30lbs of pure fat, maybe another 5 for water weight. So id be on stage at around 220. All in theory tho, never really will know until i get down to it.

My major is Kinesiology, though i may start looking into Finance, maybe no investment Banking…i dunno id like to think im pretty good with numbers… Id probably also go into a writing sort of gig if i thought i could make some money in that field, but idk if writing would be the best profession to finance my Olympia Trek.

Dude, your “fro” in those pics must have pulled MAD tail back in the day!

Thanks for taking the time to explain things the way you do. I’ve been working out for about 2 years and am learning new things every day. Hopefully one day I’ll be massive enough to have a following like you.

x infinity!

I had/have the same problem as you- overactive front delt. Bringing up my lateral and rear head has been difficult but just strengthening the rear delt to compensate for the front will do wonders for overall shoulder health alone…

Lol you think i was going to be like every other retard my age and gel it to holy fuck? No thanks.

And its not really a following, im not big enough for that, yet. Its more like a handful of people, on my tail in growth, that just needed a bit of a nudge in the right direction. Most of my threads are made simply to Inspire the uninspired…nothing is really new or ground breaking information- Muscle specific threads had been made before i made mine, and many more will be made after mine are forgotten.

I’m in the same exact boat you were in, in those 1st year college pictures (same weight, height, similar build too). I can’t say I’m inspired by much but seeing your at 250+ makes me want to eat a lot of hamburgers.

Keep it up brother.

The great thing about a business major is that it’s usable. My thoughts pre-college was to get a business degree for undergraduate and I could always go back and get a masters in what my passion was (partial PhD in physical therapy right now).

My business background has allowed me to start my own company in an industry I love, while I’ve got friends who majored in what they loved and are still trying to find jobs. Just my 2 cents, but go with a finance major or a duel major with the kinesiology. You can always go get a masters in something else but at least you are prepared for the real world and are adaptable.

You get to a certain weight and everything becomes a barrier you have to surpass. I remember i couldnt break 240 for awhile- Then i took the Anaconda Protocol. By the end of it, i was 250. Just remember, it isnt about wolfing down cake with every meal, it just becomes a struggle for “More.” You stopped gaining weight?

Means you have to eat more- Turn that scoop of protein into 1 1/2 scoops, turn that 1/2 cup oatmeal into a full cup, etc. A product of more food is more strength, more energy- You eat that extra 1/2 oatmeal, and youll have that much more energy in the gym, might be able to lift a bit more, bust a couple more reps out, bump the weight, etc

I see it as “The Slippery Slope of Growth.”

For sure, definitely on the same page as you man. All the little steps add up, I’ll be following this thread.

Mr. Olympia? Or Natural Olympia?
Is that your competition goal?

You seem to bust ass Akuma, I hope you reach all your goals, and then some.

Regarding the work thing, bust ass. I’m a 4th year Econ/Japanese double major and been busting ass hard to break into i.banking or consulting. Has definitely taken focus off the gym but it will be worth it in the long run. Shit’s no joke…

Good luck man.

shrug Who knows…=)

Akuma, if you’re Greek, then we’re probably long lost cousins, because I am too man.

Akuma- I think you’ve definitely got a bodybuilding book or two in you, and once you win a few competitions and make a (bigger) name for yourself I’ve no doubt you’ll find yourself writing monthly articles in a muscle mag, you have a real talent when it comes to writing, it would be a shame to waste it, but you know what’s best for you and I wish you the best of luck with your decisions.

I’m not trying to put you off (but just to let you know as I heard you mention banking) I know a few investment bankers (I live in London) and those banks think they OWN YOUR ASS once you work for them, investment banking doesn’t compliment the bodybuilding lifestyle, 18 hour days traveling and boozy lunches probably aren’t your thing mate. But as I said you know what’s best for you and I wish you the best of luck with your decisions.

Best of luck with your contest preparation anyhow, i think you should log it all in a thread and include it in your book, I’ll be following with interest!

yea…kinda puts a damper on things…well simply keep trucking along doing my thing, maybe one day ill be “discovered” by someone and picked up working in a writing/bodybuilding field. WHO knows, possibilities are limitless- which is why there is no sense in pondering them. We simply do what we can do with what we have.
